Re: mourinho, not quite the special one, chelsea fans opinion?.

I'm a Man U fan, so it was a good resutl from the point of view that if we make it to the final we have a better chance of beatign Liverpool than Chelsea.

Jose was right - his team were the only ones going for a win (after Liverpool had scored).

As for Mouinho - he's shown over the last 2 weeks (Newcastle, Bolton, Liverpool), that he's not as special as he thought and he sounded unusually humble last night in the ITV post-match interview.

Again, from our point of view, we cannot afford to slip up in the league now as that is biggest prize Chelsea are going for now so they will win remaining 3 games - yes, even Arsenal. And should they not win at Arsenal, the league will be lost so they will rest all their players for the FA Cup Final. So that will be tough for us.

More importantly, come on the true red pride of the North for tonight!

While I've no doubt he's a great manager, probably one of the best in the world, he's no Ferguson or Wenger yet.

I think he's gone. The prem has 99% disappeared & now the Champs League too. Don't care what Kenyon said last week, his mouth & lack of big cup success will be the end of him come June.

Absolutely, but the crass, despicable way that he was treated at the end, means a return would never happen ... he's a tad too old though, if the truth be known.
I think at some point, Zola will get the managers job! ... For goodness sake though, don't put Dennis Wise in!

Did you see that new show on BBC1 the other night "Inside Sport"? John Terry said he asked for a 9 year contract with a manager's slot at the end of it - his agent has got some big ideas then.

Re: mourinho, not quite the special one, chelsea fans opinion?.

there is no denying Jose's record of success, but its his attitude and lack of class / humility that turns people off the club. Wenger and Ferguson were never that disrespectful to other players or clubs.

I actually liked Chelsea when Claudio was in charge, and it was because of him. Now I can't stand them, because of the manager. I would love to have players like Terry and Essien in my team as they play with heart, passion and no end of skill.

But if Chelsea really want to become a global brand, they need to start playing attractive football and improve their PR image (ask Celtic fans what they think of him!). There's no harm in holding your hands up and saying we were beaten by the better team on the day, or that we didn't pay well etc. Show some humility Jose!

Spot on, Kenyon's dreams of doing what he did with Man Utd globally will never happen whilst José is around. If at all, which I doubt

Re: mourinho, not quite the special one, chelsea fans opinion?.

It was funny in the press conference,

Jose: Can you tell me if it was off side? There is no pretty close. I haven't seen it.

Press: He was on side.

Jose: I don't believe that.

Don't think anyone respects his opinion anymore tbh.

But rather than post, I'll just copy+paste

Mourinho the deluded one

Chelsea counterpart Petr Cech was beaten by Daniel Agger's first-half strike, saved brilliantly from Peter Crouch and watched Dirk Kuyt's header hit a post.

Dutch striker Kuyt also saw a goal ruled out by a marginal offside and brought a fine save from Cech in the final seconds after he was played in by Robbie Fowler.

Re: mourinho, not quite the special one, chelsea fans opinion?.

I think Jose has proved that you cant just buy success, Chelsea have spent millions on some very very average players .

Schevchenko need I say more The media and pundits have got taken in by the huge signing fees and the hype surrounding Abrhamovich and his cash but hype is all it is. If Chelsea are so good why do they keep failing to deliver in cup competitions ? the answer is simple they aernt good enough to succeed, Grinding a one nil out against Watford ion a saturday afternoon is one thing winning a european cup is another.

Has Jose given anything to the club that wasnt there allready ? No he hasnt but he has succeeded in making himself look very stupid.

Unless Jose and Chelsea can cultivate some home grown British talent like both Liverpool and Man U have done then Jose is going to need to spend millions more as many of his key players are getting very long in the tooth Makelele for example . Will Abramhovich keep spending I dont think he will, if he doesnt then Chelsea will fall from grace extremely quickly.

If Liverpool are a small club then Jose must think he is the manager of a Vauxhall Conference team !!!!!!!!!!

millions on average players? what about Essien, Ballack, Carvalho, Cole, Drogba, Robben - any team in Europe would love to have those players because they are world class

failing to deliver? sorry but have they won the Premiership twice, League Cup winners and in the FA Cup Final

what has Jose given them? erm...two Premiership titles, the League Cup, Champions League Semis and the FA Cup Final

I'm a Man Utd fan but I had to come to the defence of the Chelsea scum bags here because your post is so wrong as I have clearly shown

Yes, you have, and in some style ... keep up the good work!

co55ie: Your points really are way off the mark and I shall quickly address just one of them if I may: "Our key players are getting very long in the tooth... take Makelele for example"... Mate, for a start, Makelele is no longer a key player at Chelsea... his role has been taken over by Mikel! ... In fact, I would say our key players are Petr Cech (25), John Terry (26), Michael Essien (24), Frank Lampard (28), Joey Cole (25) and Didier Drogba (29)! .... all long in the tooth? ... well maybe if you're only about 9 years old yourself!

Re: mourinho, not quite the special one, chelsea fans opinion?.

i dont think that at chelsea we will ever know if moaniniho is a great manager, did he win the title 3 years on the trot with porto, and have domestic cup success with porto, the same he had with chelsea? or did he only have so much sucess after he could spend what he wanted on the best players in the world!im a gooner, brian clough was a great manager, wenger is a fantastic manager, but fergie is and will proberley be the best premier league manager of all time!

To be fair LFC, Gallas' sale wasn't down to Jose... the board wouldn't meet his pay demands .. Jose wanted it to be sorted.
