Final Score 0-1 to Hearts.
The reason Im telling you this is because there is an extremely funny story behind this fixture which i want to share with you all. Hibs fans aside, Im sure everyone else will find it amusing.
Firstly, Hearts are not having a good season. In fact its been dire, but we are still above our Edinburgh rivals Hibs, and look favourites to finish the season above them.
Hearts are the current Scottish Cup Champions.
2 weeks ago, Hibs won the CIS Insurance Cup. The league cup to you and I. The cup that really doesnt mean anything as it offers no Euro qualification. Even in England the Carling Cup is classed as a pain in the backside. So, Imagine how irrelevent it is north of the border.
Anyway, to rub Hearts noses in it, Hibs planned to have an after match party where they would parade the cup after last weekends Edinburgh Derby. I admit they were hot favourites to win the match. In our last game we went down 4-0 at home to Dundee Utd. We really lack quality in all departments, including management of the club. Hearts fans were resigned to losing the match and leaving before the 'party'.
So we are at Easter Road, expecting to be out of there by 70 minutes having been beat. Then we score and its 1-0. It was a terrible game by all accounts but we held on and beat them.
After the game, Hearts fans went nowhere. We just stood there singing and dancing and partying like we had just won the league. You must understand we have had nothing else to cheer about this season.
We completely spoiled their party. You see, the funny thing is, Hibs actually thought they were definately going to beat us, and hadn't really considered their 'little party' in the unlikely outcome of Hearts winning.
So the police tried to empty the away stand, but it never happened. For a full hour after the game, Hearts fans were partying like it was 1999. Singing songs like:
'Wee team wee cup, big team big cup'
In ref to their cup 'What the F****** hell is that'?
'Shoes off if you hate hibees'
You get the picture.
Heres an extract from BBCSport:
'And they had to wait half an hour for the celebrations among the Hearts fans to subside before they could begin their own, somewhat deflated trophy-winning party.'
Ironically, to add fuel to the fire, Hibs manager John 'Square Head Sponge pants' Collins, is reported to have referred to Hearts as a 'pub team' in December 2006 after his team lost at Tynecastle.
Hearts have just released a new item to their club shop:

Football is a beautiful game. To support a team, even one that is bad will still supply you with some of the most memorable moments of your life.
I hope you enjoyed this story. Please keep an eye out for Hearts, we'll hopefully pull through and become good again next season.
