Anyone had a run of results like this?

As a long suffering Manchester City fan (and seeing England draw 0-0) I had a quick look back through our fixtures to revisit the games I have watched recently with my beloved team in action ...... ready for these?

4 Dec Watford (h) 0-0
17 Dec Spurs (h) 1-2
23 Dec Bolton (h) 0-2
1 Jan Everton (h) 2-1
20 Jan Blackburn (h) 0-3
3 Feb Reading (h) 0-2
3 Mar Wigan (h) 0-1
11 Mar Blackburn (a - FAC) 0-2
14 Mar Chelsea (h) 0-1

There you have it. 9 games. 1 win, 1 draw and 7 defeats. And a truly magnificent THREE goals scored in 810 minutes

It made England's performance against Israel positively exciting.

I can't be asked to check but I think you'll find that West Ham have a similarly dismal record. Apart from the Blackburn result, I don't think we've won since the result against Man U in December sometime. Although we do score occasionally.

Painful ain't it.

England should redesign the game and play with 2 balls on the pitch at the same time. Maybe they will hit the wood work!

Re: Anyone had a run of results like this?

The lack of goals has got to be the most worrying part. We just don't attack often enough - during those games, one of three goals was a penalty.

I'm really worried for our Premiership survival but think that we'll just scrape out of it.

The bit I don't understand. Andy Cole plays just one season there & has a great season - he's then offloaded?

i didn't understand that either - then all sorts of things came out after the event. After we'd signed him on another one year contract, Portsmouth offered him a two year deal. He felt that it was too good to turn down and wanted to go. City said 'no' and apparantley he threatened Pearce with 'retirement' if we didn't let him go. We got £500,000 - he got his move.

Just give him a 2 year contract - how much would it cost to bring in a striker with his scoring record...

i agree he had a good season with us - but I think Pearce's doubts about his injuries - he missed the last half of the season - have been proved true. He hasn't figured much for Pompey and they've now loaned him out.

Having said that, Vassell looks lost without him, scored 11 goals that season and has managed 1 since

I think this summer will see a shake up with the following players leaving :

Hamann
Corradi
Beasley
Jordan
Dickov
Dabo

and I think we should be looking at some good, young English players with the emphasis on quality rather than quantity. Have we got enough money though? Would love to see Ashton, Etherington, Nugent at City.

Dream on

It's more likely we'll take Barton and Richards off your hands.

Although on reflection, you can have Etherington - how much do we have to pay you to take him?

don't think that Joey and Micah will want to play for West Ham ...... the premiership will be much better for them!

And Dean Ashton will relish a return to the North West .... hopefully. I would say its be one of the reasons why West Ham have struggled.

I think you'll find it's money that talks, something we're no longer short of, so I wouldn't be so sure.

And its the rest of the team causing the problems, not Ashtons absence.
