Thumbs up West Ham thread.

A place where all long suffering hammers can discuss everything from what went wrong this season to what we need to do to prepare for next season.

To be truthful, it wouldn't have made any difference as the majority of the rest of the team didn't bother turning up mentality.

We'll just live on what might have been, and our memories, until next season.

Like winning the cup last year (except for Gerrard).

Beating ManU and the Arse this year.

Arse Wengers tantrum.

Pardews little dance.

And lasagnegate!!!

And Jol still going on about it after this years game.

They maybe small, little memories, but they're all mine and they make me smile.

I know you'd like to think that but we were going down even before we failed to beat Charlton and Watford.

Re: West Ham thread.

Give Hunts his moment mate, after all Spurs fans have to win something, being the powerhouse that they are of course

In some ways the Blackburn win disappointed me, because it gave me something to cling on to (when I was quite prepared to accept the inevitable).

Well over the line though, Bobby's goal

Re: West Ham thread.

Always had a soft spot for the Hammers, and would love to see them stay up in the EPL in front of some of the other brock thats about.

But even if they win a few games before the end, I think they have left it too late. Too many shocking performances throughout the season and they still have some games against the 'big' sides which they might struggle in.

Its a shame because they have a good squad. But a lot of the players have let the club down this season, whilst picking up big wages. And I have no doubt that the players who caused their probable relegation will not be long in handing in transfer requests once they go down.

Sure as long as they are OK, who cares about the club!! Modern footballers, eh?

Can't argue with that.

Although there have been times (usually when the hammers have pulled off one of their numerous 'shocks' against us) I feel less 'warm' towards them, overall West Ham are one of these teams that you root for. As for playing better football, it's a sad thought there are indeed teams with a much higher ranking that don't play football as good as West Hams - when in form I hasten to add!

On the players, who could argue? However, again I agree, they aren't the only ones turning up for monster pay checks in premiership who barely deserve them.

Re: West Ham thread.

When I mentioned that WH play better football than a lot of others, I was primarily thinking about the 'grafters' if you know what I mean.

And realising that I may get abuse for this, I meant the likes of Sheff Utd, Watford, Wigan, Blackburn, Bolton. Even some of the teams whose fans may think they wouldn't be included in this list (Villa spring to mind).

I hope I haven't offended any fans on here, but I am a neutral and the Hammers generally play a better style of football than even some of the top teams.

I don't fancy us much either. They just don't look like winning - period. If we aren't careful then Spurs will do to us what we did to them last year.................

Please, no. Can you imagine what they'll be like.

Mind you it was a lucky old penalty at the weekend that they needed to win, so I don't think they're on top form at the moment and on your day.......

Lets just hope you don't have one of your days on Saturday

Re: West Ham thread.

This is why West Ham are a complete pack of ws, just when you've accepted the inevitable they only go and win a couple on the spin don't they?!

The next few weeks are massive for us, we've played the Arse three times since promotion and won two out of three... last season we went to the Library and definitely caught them at a good time, so maybe after a 4-1 thumping it may be a good time again to go there confident?

Who knows, a win for us and a defeat for Sheffield United and the game at Bramall Lane looks like your proverbial "six-pointer"

I'm still not convinced that staying up is the best thing for our club at the moment, but at least it's something to play for at the tail end of the season, keeps things interesting

I know and couldn't agree more.

My gut feeling is still that it's too little, too late. And I've got a horrible feeling that Chalton are going to pip us at the post too. Which would just about put the cherry on it.

Only too well. I've had to put up with those big headed mouthing off since I was at school! There's only one set of fans less modest (and honest) than Spurs lot and I think you know who I mean?

If not just ask CFC........

I like West Ham, always have but how the hell did Mascherano not get in your side? I'd happily drop Alonso & Sissoko to accommodate him.

Hope we nab Tevez too..

Everyone I speak to asks the same question and - not personal DJT! - it's starting to get on my nerves! Not playing Mascherano was not primarily down to footballing reasons - there are things that we will never know about the signings, but it appears the deals for Mascherano and Tevez were vastly different.

If you want to hypothesise however, both of the players hardly spoke a word of English - in Tevez's role that's not necessarily a problem, he's a roaming and natural striker and communication is not as key as the "Makelele" role that Masch plays so well for Argentina. At Liverpool he is surrounded by Spanish-speaking players (and staff, namely Benitez), which is certainly going to help him. At West Ham he only had Yossi Benayoun trying to translate, as Yossi played in Spain with Santander.

I still think getting bit by that rabid dog (or Defoe, for short) had something to do with it!

On to more pressing matters I have a really strange feeling - and irrational too - that we may just nick the points on Saturday...

Oooh I get all warm and tingly when other people slag 'them' and their 'glitzy' players off!

Nothing 'irrational' about it. To quote Terry Neill, "they couldn't beat 11 dustbins at the moment"............

The horror shows on Merseyside and at Villa aren't the end of it. Sadly.

Well it's either we pinch it or as we have a tendency of doing, get you back into form by providing open invitation to give us an old-fashioned shoeing!

As for 'glitzy' players, we are still talking about Jermaine Defoe right? The only glitzy thing about him is that Elizabeth Dooook sparkly stud he wears in his ear... the ponce.

Hopefully the latter.......

All 'scintillating sooooooperspurs' (an early 80's commentators quote - with no hint of irony!) players are 'glitzy' because they 'always' play 'good football'. Haw!

What you mean the side that Bill Nicholson said was so boring even he couldn't bear to watch them? You mean the rubbish 90's teams? I think not!

Re: West Ham thread.

The Hammers have a few more hard games against the 'big' sides that may well be too much for them to survive, but everyone had todays game down as a home win, so you never know.

At least morale must be high now at the club with 9pts from the last 3 games.

Nothing 'irrational' about it. To quote Terry Neill, "they couldn't beat 11 dustbins at the moment"............

The horror shows on Merseyside and at Villa aren't the end of it. Sadly.
God I hate it when Arsenal prove me right - for the wrong reasons! Useless shower.
