Re: lampard off to inter for 8 mill ?

As far as I'm aware that interview suggests Inter were not aware of this until the Sunday Mail interview. Id be gutted if Lamps went but I'm still confident he will sign a new contract. However in my opinion, a lot of the new contract talks are probably stalling as players will wait to see what Jose does...

Absolutely right.
If he goes anywhere, it'll be Barcelona though, surely, as his missus is from Catalonia and reportedly homesick. If it was down to me, I'd send her packing now and hook Frank up with a bird from just off the King's Road!

Don't go Frank... you won't like that foreign food and you'll never get used to driving on the other side of the road...and those double-sided kisses when you meet and greet (men included) ... and the horrible supporters will call you "el grande"

But think of all that lovely paella you could eat, and all that lovely tapas - you would love it in Barcelona

Re: lampard off to inter for 8 mill ?

Well depends whether money matters to him, whether he wants to stay for the fight and stay where he is settled now. Oh no wait, he left West Ham years ago. Scratch that then

He's hardly gonna get more money anywhere else, is he? No... I believe you've got the wrong impression of Frank.... he's settled, is not money grabbing, and has found his own piece of utopia at Chelsea!
Don't blame him for moving from West Ham for a better life... it would kinda be comparable to a prospective university student moving from Liverpool to London to better himself ... and ending up finding it very much to his liking and deciding to settle there for a much more rewarding, fulfilling life... it happens matey!

Re: lampard off to inter for 8 mill ?

Actually I moved down from Manchester to London for uni, but yes I have been around the NW most of my life. FYI Manchester is probably the best city in England outside of London (and I did live in Liverpool). Both have their pluses and minuses

Back on topic, I notice Lampard's agent likes to talk too much... presumably thinking about his own mortgage

Thanks for that mate But how bizarre that my hypothetical profile fits you so well! and to think, I didn't even have you in particular, in mind.... uncanny

Re: lampard off to inter for 8 mill ?

This will never happen.

Why would Fat Frank want to move to Italy where he would be under more pressure to perform, when he is almost considered a God by Sky and the media. He always gets rave reviews in the UK (except for some of his England performances of course ) and is on easy street in the EPL.

Plus its not like Chelsea are cash-strapped and need the £8million.

The only reason I can see tubby leaving the EPL is to challenge or prove to himself that he is as good as he is meant to be. In this case I can see him heading only to Spain, for either Barca or Madrid, with Barca being favourites due to the missus.

But I think he will never leave England.

Mate, don't follow the crowd! Frank is a fantastic footballer and he definitely IS NOT FAT...it's just that his physiological make up makes him appear that way...remember, in the last 4 or 5 years, he has spent more time on a football pitch than anyone... goalkeepers included... if he was a fat sod, would he be able to do that? Of course not!...so it's about time you all showed him some respect!

Re: lampard off to inter for 8 mill ?

True. Every man and his dog slagged off Lampard for his no-show in Germany. Even an equally off-form Gerrard managed to scored twice. Hell, even Beckham and Crouch did! Although I agree with recent tabloid criticism of him having a go at Barton. Barton was spot on

Meh. The thread is going nowhere. TBH I wouldn't even allow transfer gossip threads myself - always did think they are clutter and pointless. 99% of stories are just that! This forum wants to raise itself above the level of tabloids now

It was actually meant to be a little toungue-in-cheek. I don't really think Frank is that fat. You are talking to a Madrid fan who has had to watch a really fat footballer waddle around the pitch over the last 3 seasons after all.

Plus I think he is actually quite a decent footballer.

But that particular sight won't be strutting his stuff on your stage anymore! There was a little whisper a few weeks back that the not so little bundle of joy could have been heading for us! ... Thankfully, Roman's wallet was jammed in his pocket!

Commentator quote of the week during Saturday's AC Milan match on Setanta :
"The Milan fans are singing 'Roll Out The Barrel'. I don't THINK it has anything to do with the imminent arrival of Ronaldo ....."

£8million? Rip-off, you could get one of Matt Upson's legs for that amount of money!

As for Sir Lumpalard leaving us, he wasn't exactly happy coming towards the end of his time at West Ham, namely because we used to have a bit of a problem with him not being dropped, even when playing crap... and he's been badmouthing us ever since!

Hopefully there'd be a loanback deal involved, so he could go to Dagenham & Redbridge for some experience first
