Something I didn't know to add to that:
The terms of the BDO contract binds all semi-finalists to the event for the following year (Lakeside in Jan 2008) - so we won't see any of this years top 4 finishers moving over.
Raymond van Barneveld was the last person to move over to the PDC after inserting a clause in his contract (although he lost the final anyway).

Good, all the top players in one place.
Still think Taylor and van Barneveld will win everything between them though.

Having watched the BDO championship, other than an exciting final the quality for pretty much all the guys was no where near good enough to challenge the top PDC guys.
You really have to fear for the BDO now

The quality of darts from Phil Taylor and Raymond van whatshisname was superb in that final. Either of them would have wiped the floor with last nights finalists.

Lets be honest, why would any darts player worth his salt now want to be in the BDO?
After the excitement of the Taylor v Barney final, I happened to flick past the BDO Lakeside championship recently. To be honest, the standard was pathetic. Cant remember who I was watching (1 of the earlier rounds - an Englishman v a Dutchman) but it was shocking!! Neither would have won a single game v Taylor, and I'd have put money on that.
And in another game a guy got 7. Yes, 7. You wouldn't see that in a local pub game.

this division has now spoilt the sport at its top level.
this is now going the way boxing went, no true world champion etc

As was mentioned in last nights Evening Standard, Adams would struggle to get in the top 20 in the PDC.

Adams is a bottler big time. Was very surprised he won the final set.
Taylor or Barney would have white washed him 7 - 0 if they were playing in the final.
I just wish they would increase the premier league to 10 or maybe even 12 players rather than 7

Of course it has spoilt the sport, when different organisations split the sport it will do, it would be better with just one. i know one is better than the other but thats hardly the point.
