Utd v City

So what does everyone think the score will be ?

Some facts

United defend an unbeaten home Premiership record against City, but have won only one of the last five League meetings at Old Trafford. They last took three points from a 3-1 victory on 13 December 2003 when Paul Scholes scored two and Ruud van Nistelrooy got the other.

But one small issue Ref - Graham Pol

Should be a good game - United 2 - 0

Dear mother of..

4-1 Utd. Utd are really in the groove and will make the gap at the top 9 points, ahead of the London derby on Sunday. Rooney, Ronaldo and Giggs to shine

Re: Utd v City

as fergie has said, the form book goes out of the window when it's utd vs city. i don't see us rolling them over unfortunately but i'd like to think our cutting edge will shine when we need it and it'll end up 2-0 or 2-1

also, i am slightly worried about Rooney and Ronaldo with Poll refereeing.. he's likely to be in full 'media' mode which means they better be on their best behaviour!

that's not a problem because they will need 3 bookings before they have to leave the field with Poll in charge

Re: Utd v City

3-1 at last, Isaakson made too many good saves against Rooney. He would shine in a better team (Isaakson, not Rooney )...

lol, looks like it was city on the end of poll's media trip today thank god! i'm sure there will be plenty in the papers tomorrow about a match involving man utd where the other team gets someone sent off for diving

anyway, 9 points clear, here's hoping arsenal can do us a favour tomorrow cos i think it'll be league over by new year if they do have you seen the xmas schedule? man utd get loads of rest between games where as chelsea play every 3 days!

Can only see Man Utd going from strength to strength... next opponents being the gloriously hapless Hammers!

Can I even bring myself to watch?!

Re: Utd v City

Great result, Isaakson was pretty good. Poll was decent, did you see the beginning of the amtch, when Ronaldo went past one, and then Barton (scum) just comes and takes Ronaldo out, no attempt at the ball, no card. 9 points clear, come on Arsenal!

So can I - unfortunately. Nothing against Utd (apart from Fergie) as they play good football, but it'll be yet another yawnpionship if they get too far ahead. Utd are NOT as strong as in the past, yet they are finding it easier than ever this season. Another indictment of the premiership?

As you say rio, it's just a question of how many Utd will score, not whether they will win or not.

Re: Utd v City

Just found this thread - mind you, I have had my head down for a couple of days. Anyway, I thought City performed well except for some defensive blunders which cost us the game.

Graham Poll was predictably very poor and even the commentators expressed surprise at the ref's bias towards the home team.

Not that they needed it much as we were just as culpable.

I think we gave United as good a game as they have had at home. Even Fergie recognised this and took Saha off with 30 mins left and brought O'Shea on. Quite a compliment. For an away side to have 15 attempts on goal at OT is pretty good I reckon - we usually don't manage that over about six games.
