Real Madrid sign TV deal worth 1.1 billion

I believe that Chelsea are about to have a serious rival in the financial stakes. Real Madrid have signed a 7 year tv deal worth 1100 million pounds. This works out supposedly at a minimum of 157 million pounds a season. Their previous deal was for 55 million pounds a season.

The deal is with a Catalan TV producing company called Media Pro. Supposedly Barcelona have signed a deal with worth 1000 million pounds with another company in the same media group. These deals are supposed to run for around seven years.

This sort of deal is available in Spain as their is no collective bargaining agreement between the clubs.

***! What happened to the "level playing field"?
At this rate, the rest of us won't be able to compete... then they will be able to buy all the best players....pay the highest wages...and become the most hated team in Europe!
Huh! Where have I seen that scenario before?

LOL

Is it any wonder the Premiership (as a contest) is about as exciting as watching paint dry.

I would never have countenanced that comment previously, but I'm beginning to come round to that way of thinking
