Hearts Glorious Hearts

What is going on at Tyncastle - this shows what can happen when a takeover goes wrong!!!! Other clubs beware!

There is only one option left for Pressley - to leave. Gordon will also go soon and Hartley & Neilson should follow. All this Scottish talent being forced out of a Scottish Club.

Romanov said that in 10 years Hearts will be European Champions......that's a laugh.

9 years left and things have and are continuing to go backwards.

Re: Hearts Glorious Hearts

I started a thread about all the nonsense going on at Hearts a while back, and its only got worse. we're now on our 7th manager, etc etc.
I cant even bring myself to list the disgusting things happening at our club.

As a season ticket holder for god knows how many years, I honestly fear that we may not have a club in the next year-2 years.

Romanov is an absolute nightmare, and to treat Stephen Pressley (who is a legend) with such contempt and disrespect is the last straw for me.

No more away games. I've been to more than a few this season, and all we play is second rate players. All our best players are either in the stand, not even picked, or errrm injured ?? Its pathetic, and because the chairman / owner picks the team every week, all we get is his Lithuanian imports who are hopeless.

I dispair, I really do. Its not looking at all good, and this Sunday it may all come to a head in the game against Rangers (at home)

also, see who the referee is on Sunday - Dougie McDonald (sigh - it doesn't rain but it pours)

It's a totally crazy situation which is occurring at Hearts. Mr Romanov is on a one-man powertrip. In the space of a year he has hired Burley, Rix and Duffy, Ivanauskaus, Malofeev and yet another manager from his other club FBK Kaunas. All of these managers have had to suffer from interference in team matters from the chairman.

I believe that last season Hearts finished second in the League despite all the the interfering influences. Supposedly from reports Rix and Duffy had to supply the team line-ups to Romanov the day before games, they also had to include reasons for the players inclusion. Afterwards Romanov would reply back suggesting alterations to the team which had to be adhered to.

Mr Ivanauskaus has been told to go on some sort of suggested leave by the Chairman. Another problem is that the Club had debts of over 20m pounds before Romanov took over, these debts must surely have increased due to his signings in the last 18 months or so. These debts have been transferred to his bank Ukio Bankas.

He has absolute control of the club. The club's stadium could be sold at his whim at any time. I believe the club's future looks bleak as nobody knows what this dictator's next move will be. I am Dundee Utd fan and glad we had a lucky escape from Romanov.

Romanov's next move will be interesting to say the least.

I wonder whether Pressley, Hartley, Gordon, Brellier and Aguilar will still be at the club after the next transfer window. I really like Pressley, great player, also probably one of the most articulate footballer's around. The treatment of Brellier and Webster over the last 6-9 month's gave a sort of clue to the ego of the man in charge.

Re: Hearts Glorious Hearts

Being a Hibs fan through and through I will not say "I told you so" as really deep down the last thing the Scottish game needs is to lose the Edinburgh derby fixture and our greatest rivals. However the attitude of many Hearts fans I have spoken too over the last two years has really made me think twice about showing any sympathy. The wee team comments, docklanders and so on along with the pig ignorant attitude that you were going to win the Champions league and teh Scottish league this year really made the vocal fan base look very silly and basically leave you out in the cold where other clubs are concerned. The arrogance is now starting to backfire as suddenly the heads come up from the sand pit and start to realise that the clubs owner may indeed have the wrong motivation after all.

I am sure that there are genuine Hearts fans who saw this coming a while ago and have felt helpless to do anything, but at the same time the vast majority in my opinion have gone along with the rubbish this man has spouted for the last two years. He said he was going to spend millions on players, have big name managers and would split the old firm every year and win the champions league, well I and every other scottish football fan must be watching a different team than the one who turned up at Easter Road last week and were played into next year never mind off the park. It was the worst performance I have ever seen from a Hearts team, ever! And what happened to all that money the submariner was going to spend?

I would fear for the future of HOMFC as we know it and that has me split in two ways. As I said there are genuine Hearts fans, like those few who stood with us in the dark days of the "Hands off Hibs" era, but I have also witnessed the sheer ignorant self serving attitudes of the Hearts faithful who blame anyone but themselves and make a mockery of the SFA and referees on a regular basis when things go wrong and who say they will be the Chelsea of the SPL. The Paranoia is scary! I really hope that Romanov's comment that there should only be one big team in Edinburgh doesn't come back to bite you guys too hard.

I can see where the problems came from, the club was in serious finacial strife and you had to get rid of the pie man. When this guy turned up saying he was going to spend millions on players and that Hearts would be Scottish champions and the fact he was from the eastern block and appeared minted, you can see why some got carried away. I did fear that he had nailed it last season when you guys shot into a big SPL lead and where playing some good football, but alas the house of card sfell down just as quickly as it had been built, with some unbelievable drama. Maybe Sky should drop Dream Team and follow Hearts exploits, the storylines would seem far fetched if written in a TV script.

I hope things get sorted for you guys, like I say the sweetness of a derby win would be the biggest loss for me. I think it will be painful ahead and maybe for what has been said and done, your club should suffer for a little while to learn it's lesson. Every other club has sold its big money players and tighened the purse strings, hell Hibs had a £2m profit last year but have spent nowt on players and have managed to ride their luck, play their way through. So all the best to the genuine Hearts fans who I do respect, maybe the large majority with the attitude problems are now starting to change for the better now they realise the grass is far from green and hopefully HOMFC can be saved - but not until it learns the lessons i would say IMHO.

The above is made in good humour and respect, I hope it is taken that way.

Re: Hearts Glorious Hearts

a very fair assesment Phil.

mind you, after what we went through with the Pieman, we HAD to believe in Romanov.

As you say, some went a bit overboard, and I suppose it was like the Pied Piper.

However, if (as looks likely) Hearts do end up 'wound up' then it will be all of Scottish Footballs loss.

I went to the Hands off Hibs rally in 1990, and saw what you guys went through. I fear it will be the same for us (starting on Sunday)

Media reports are suggesting that a no-confidence vote on Pressley was undertaken by the Lithuanian members of the team. This in no doubt was instigated by Mad Vlad. Paul Hartley and Robbie Neilson were also removed to the bench. Craig Gordon's place is supposedly under threat as Steve Banks is approaching fitness.

How this affects the Hearts team going into this weekend's game against Rangers is anyone's guess. Rangers are their for the taking this weekend but I believe Hearts will do well to get any type of result. I therefore believe that the Hearts team this weekend could be missing amongst others Pressley, Neilson, Gordon, Hartley, Fsysass, Brellier. Brellier's performance on Monday night was hardly surprising due to the amount of games he has not played recently.

Like a lot of other non in-firm supporters I was hoping that Hearts would have been capable of breaking the stranglehold these clubs currently hold. The ironic thing is that without this interefence and debacle surrounding the club, I fully believe they would have been fully in contention right to the bitter end.

The ramifications of Romanov's shareholding and the debt's at the club will cast a dark shadow over the long and short term future of the club.No-one knows what his agenda is. The splits in the dressing room are made obvious by the rather limp last two performances of the club.

I just hope the club survives to emerge from this sorry situation.
