It just shows how hard our group was: we had to beat France twice just to get into a position where we have to beat Italy to qualify. Any other group and we would be there by now.

Agreed. Although I think it was the game in Georgia that blew it - if they have.
Overall though, whatever happens, Scotland can take many more positives out of their campaign than England have. They looked like a team again, rather than one or two 'quality' players among a load of also-rans, and, unlike England gave it their best shot in every single game. Christ, you can't ask for more than that!
If I was a Scot, whatever the result today, I'd be proud of what the team have achieved.
The problem will be though, delivering on the promise.
