I reckon all the teams should be happy with that draw. With the execption of Derry ,who will just be happy to have drawn againt a top side, thay all have a good chance to progress onto the group stage (As long as Hearts can keep 11 men on the field ).

My sister lives in Germany, so I'll have to try and make the Leverkusen tie.

Re: UEFA Cup Draw

Fellas, you were hard done by with that draw - all the best and all that, but you've got yourself a real difficult group.

Think Blackburn and Sevilla have got the plum groups, in my opinion.

Good luck to the Barcodes in Palermo - from what I hear it wasn't the most hospitable and the police not the most helpful... and that is putting it exceptionally mildly.

Italy is a naughty place. I would be less concerned visiting Insanbul than Italy.

I've heard some real nasty stories about the Hammers' fans visit to Palermo - even some young lad, only about 10 years old, getting a brick at his head

According to our gutter press though it's always the English fans fault...

Been Italy twice WC 90 and a WC qualifier. It amazed me how much the Italian Police hated us,if you never got a slap of the supporters the police would make up for it.

Re: UEFA Cup Draw

They should have kept this straight knockout.

It was exciting then.

The way it is now....? A disgrace. It's boring, the fixtures are ridiculous and no one cares about it until the final (unless you're in that is).

Sevilla to win again...against Palermo.

Sounds a lot like the CL then Istanbul. Although at least in that all the knockout games are watchable. A student of mine is lifelong rednose, and he never bothers with the CL group games. 'Boring, meaningless games', as he described them. 'Wake me up at the knockout stage, until then I'll save the money for leauge games'. I must admit I only have half an eye on them myself.

As for the UEFA cups games, they are all shown on telly in some form or another, they often (to often) pretty much play to half empty houses, and the whole competition has been hamstrung by the CL. Does anyone bar the fans bother to watch the games on telly? Most of the ones I've seen bore me rigid.

Agree totally Istanbul, although I would argue that all the European competitions were more exciting as knock-outs.
