Anelka to Bolton

SSN are reporting that Anelka has told sources that he has agreed a 4 year deal with Bolton....

i think that N.A. will be a fine signing for us, but, as has happened in the past, the deal will probably fall through at the last moment.

I'm not too sure. I know that Fenerbahce were champs this year, but what part Anelka played, I don't know!

Anelka was always quality for us. He stayed three seasons and although a loner (we all know that) he was the difference in games for us on a number of occasions. He eventually got fed up playing by himself and packed his bags off to Fenerbache as he wanted to play Champions League football every season ..... now he signs for Bolton

It does seem a bit strange that he would even consider joining us, but he must now realise that not many managers will take a chance with him, given his history of sulking and demanding moves etc.

Fair point, you have to wonder why his move to Portsmouth didn't come off and also why nobody else is interested in him. If I was Big Sam I would take him as he is a top quality player. Everyone knows his character but Sam's talent of getting the best from people will pay dividends.

Keegan always played to Anelka's ego by building the team round him and we had a decent season with him as the focus ...... be nice to see him back.

He's got no credibility playing in Turkey though. If he's looking for one last big money move a couple of years down the line, he will need to come back to the Premiership and raise his stock again.....

im sure that Fat Sam will be able to tame Le Sulk, but in doing so, will it stiffle his undoubted talent? Look what he did to Okocha, he went from a great entertainer to a player who couldnt hit a barn door from a yard.

I dont think that playing for little Bolton, will raise his stock though.

I think he is just desperate to get out of Turkey

That could be true, but from his past, I think he needs to be a big fish in a little pond, with the manager telling him how wonderful and valuable he is etc.... he didn't get that at Real Madrid or Liverpool and didn't settle. Sam could be that man to pander to him and get the best out of him..... at least until his brother comes along and says it's time to move on!

Don't know what the fee will be, quite low I think as he may now be in the last year of his contract at Fenerbache. His wages will be high but I definitely think he is worth a go, the guy is class.

I dearly hope so. We havent had a prolific goal scorer since the days of John McGinley and Andy Walker, even Eider Gudjonsen, who i think was the most talented player ever to pull on a Bolton shirt, didnt score that many.

Didn't I read somewhere that Sam had £10 million to spend and that he wanted to get both Anelka and Saviola for that? What happened with Saviola BTW?

Fenerbahce only paid City just over £5 mil for him, and he's hardly set the world alight, so surely they can't expect £9 mil now? (Maybe that's euros?) - still £6 mil though....

Saviola has said he wants European football, so he has decided to stay at Barca, even though he has been told, he has no future there.

As i suspected, the Anelka transfer wont happen. Fenebache are insisting that he stays until they are knocked out of the Champions league.

Shouldn't that read "He's a waster in Turkey". I can't stand Allardyce, he's a big mouthy, egotistical ******, so I hope he does sign Anelka and get shafted after a season.
