All the obvious that all the papers have agreed on
Ballack as he was free...especially if he clicks in the too-many-players to-choose-from Chelski midfield
Bellamy a snip at 6m...and maybe Pennant as he made the most crosses last season with 497...now if they stay out of the front pages
Andy Johnson would be great value at 8.5m if he reproduces the 21 goal return the last time he was in the Prem
I realise your question was singular and not plural...but I cannot help it!

Hamann for Bolton - £300k paid to Bolton for recompense on him backing out of the move. Easiest £300k made ever.

Interesting that Hunts thinks Corradi is the best summer signing - why is that Hunts? I've never seen him, but hope you're right! And thanks Woodywizz, Hamann is a great signing for £300K.
Blimey, looks like City are favourites for the Premiership

Thanks: Gave 175, Got 564 | Bernardo Corradi is a great player (pizza man @ door)and i think he'll do very well at City,
Not trying to say he'll be the best as cfc only probably started the thread so everyone would say Ballack,no argument as he's quality and free, just trying to put some names in the mix.
Maybe it should be ,who do you think will shine this season?
Then i would of said Benoit Assou-Ekotto.

Not convinced Ballack will turn out to be the best signing off the season, I don't think Chelsea particulary needed him and he could upset the balance of the team. They needed a world class striker, which they now have.
I would have said Duff had he gone to Spurs as I think he could have had a real impact and instead will probably be lost in mid table obscurity with Newcastle.
I think Bellamy has it in him to make areal difference for Liverpool...not that I can stand the bloke though

I would agree that Bellamy at £6m has the potential to be the best signing in terms of the impact and difference he can make at Liverpool. They were lacking up front last season and his pace can cause real problems. Rafa will have to get Bellamy's head on the game and not distracted by all his off field activites.
Other than that, I think Rosicky will do well for Arsenal.

If the question doesn't take money into account, then I think Shevchenko will turnout to be the best buy.
I realise that Chelsea aren't prolific scorers but I fancy him to be top scorer this season. He is good enough to score in the tight games v Utd/Arsenal/Liverpool, but he'll score EVERY week against the rest of the muck!!

Berbatov will make the biggest impact this season, purely because most people haven't seen him before. He's superb & moving from the German league to the Prem has to be an easier transition than most. Not sure 20+ goals, maybe in all comps though.
Bellamy, Gonzalez & Pennant can't do anything but improve Liverpool this season. As long as Rafa doesn't rotate in the league too much I wanna see 20+ League goals from Bellamy.
