Barcelona sign Thuram and Zambrotta

Good signings in my book...they just need a decent keeper now

apparently Ferguson (man utd) is interested in a few of their players. He better hurry up and make a move or they'll all be gone! Why do man utd dally so much in the transfer market and end up missing out on everyone good??

Same with Arsenal, very sloooow, we really needed Thuram.

Don't think Wenger was ever gonna buy a 34 year old though

*Grunts in agreement*.
Pires left over the yearly contract for over 30's.

Ahh think outside the box. Maybe some don't want to go to the fast and furious Prem? And Thuram is 34

Juve have a 3o-odd deficit as well as relegation? So a minimum 2 season job to get back to Serie A

P.S. Not sure if Man Utd have the money? Restructuring of interest payments sounds like rhetoric to me

Not sure I agree with Arsene's policy. Gary Mac came to Liverpool & was instrumental in winning 5 trophies. I think he needs to look at the individuals rather than his general feeling. If he's cashing in like he did with Petit, Overmars, Vieira - fair enough but Pires he got sod all for & will miss off the bench this season. Pires's link up play with Henry was poetry at times.

I agree totally.
When Pires & Henry were on form , Arsenal shone like a higher power.
Although when they had off days , the had OFF DAYS!!!!
The penalty springs to mind

But things were a little less 'hectic' then. Todays game is all about pace. Sadly. To be fair to Gary Mc he was an old fashioned 'foot on the ball and think' player. An asset to any team. It's also down to not wanting to tie himself down to older players when the teams going through a transition.

Agree though, he will be missed.

Back on the big Italian clearout, were the premiership clubs, despite their massive ego's, ever going to be the destination for Italys top stars? I don't think so.

You're right there!!

In most cases you still will find that the top players want to play in Spain first, then probably Italy. The EPL tends to get the players out to make a quick buck or looking for a retirement home where they can look good against crappy defeners (of course there are exceptions to this rule, but not many).

However in this case, I think it might have something to with Barcelona being European Champions and Capello being at Madrid.
