Stadiums

Having watched most of the games I think the stadia in this WC are excellent, Why then are England, probably the best supported team behind the hosts allocated the smallest grounds. Today Saudi Arabia and Tunisia played in a 60.000 stadium. Tomorrow England play in a reduced capacity Nuremburg stadium of around 36,500. Not fair in my mind.

I think the plan was done before draw and only Brasil and Germany were allocated prior to draw.
I was yesterday in Munich and day before in Stuttgart, atmosphere is really good.

And how come the Germans can build these excellent facilities in such short time frames, whilst Wembley won't even be ready for next years cup....

Well I agree that its a mess that Wembley is so late I believe the FA cup should still be held there next year. Wembley should be done in September of this year. I know we have heard lots of dates and they have all been missed but the fact they are currently laying the turf means they are surely getting there now. I can't see them missing next years cup.

I think the FA booking the millennium stadium is just a precaution. Imagine having no venue for the FA cup so they have to be prepared.

there is another point here: arena in munich did cost only 340 million euro and itwas done one month before schedule, while wembley (not significantly bigger) is later than late and costs over a billion.

A lot of the german stadiums have been there for a while, and were private projects of football clubs. It's interesting to note that a few of the Stadiums (Stadia??? ) were originally built for the 1936 Olympics under the Nazi era.

However as usual Wembley, the 2012 Olympics will turn into a massive, waste of money mess-up. We have a history of it. They were so over time on the building of the original wembley for the 1946 Olympics in London that they were painting on the lines 15 mins before the spectators were allowed in for the opening ceremony.

Despite what anybody says , Wembley is late because of all the politics and changes involved . Arsenal have managed to build a Football Stadium on time for nest season . If thats what Wembly had been from the begining , a Football Stadium , last years Cup Final would have been there , never mind this years

John

Unfortunately the reasons don't matter, the end result is still the same...If it wasn't changes, it would have been the wrong kind of rain or something stupid....

I paid daft money for Wembley tickets for Robbie Williams for my wifes b'day and now got to go to Milton Keynes ZZZZZZZzzzzzzz. So leave Wembley out of it please it's a sore subject.
I'm sure they decided on the venues after the draw, which I can't simply understand.

The reason all the stadia were completed on time is because the Germans would not stand for things being late. Unlike us over here.

We accept shoddy service, lateness, poor quality, inefficiency.

I was in Germany a few years ago at a CL final and their trains/buses/trams etc run nearly to the second!! Its staggering.

Having said that, they're not fun at all!! Would hate to live there!!

The new Arsenal Stadium looks very special and while Wembley may be overpriced and very late it looks amazing too.

Arsenal - http://www.liverpoolpictorial.co.uk/...es8/index.html

Wembley - http://www.multiplexcapital.biz/uplo...May%202006.pdf

The wembley photos were over 2 weeks ago, I belive the pitch is now down but I can't find any updated photos.

Wembley has over 2600 toilets, more than any other building in the world, if everything that I've read about wembley is true it really sounds like it will be an unbeliveable place. I can't wait for the first game there.

Makes a refreshing change from the old Wembley which had become one big toilet to be honest. I've renewed my Englandfans membership so am hoping to get a ticket for the first England game there

That Arse stadium looks amazing. Is it just me or do the pictures look more like graphics rather than real life!! Must get the eyes checked.

Perhaps its because the FA are involved in Wembley thats its running very late. They tend to make a balls of most things.
