I picked Vennegor of Hesselink, just because everytime I hear he's in the team lineup, I expect to see a guy on a horse in a full suit of armor playing up front for Holland.

I think Seb Schweinsteiger for Germany has the silliest name though - it translates to "Sebastien Pig Lifter". I bet his wife enjoys that name!

That he was, and after he went AWOL he was found living in a trailer park in Holland, eating cheese out of a shoe (that's probably a lie, but something equally as mad probably took place )

As for Futre... what a stroppy boy he was, wouldn't play if he couldn't have 10 on this shirt, Johnny Moncur had to give it up just so Futre could be in the team!

Heady days, I remember back then being so excited that we were signing all these big foreign names, such as Dumitrescu and Raducioiu... the only reason Raducioiu had so much pace is that he was scared of getting tackled and ran like hell to escape physical contact...

Yeah, found in some trailer park, acting a bit weird. Doctors declared him not fit to play football ever again.

Then decided that he would rather go shopping with his wife, than play football.

And the day he did I was there, in the middle of a storm, in Stockport of all places, watching us get dumped out of the Fizzy Pop Cup, and watching Dowie's most accurate finish...

... in our own net. What a night it was

The Italian goalkeeper is being referred to as "Gigi" Buffon. Sounds like a hairdresser.

Talking of dodgy West Ham signings - didn't Boogers play more games than Joey Beauchamp?
