Motson - thanks for the lecture

Just about to watch Brazil v Croatia from Berlin. I now feel truly enlightened thanks to Motty's comments regarding the 1936 Olympics and Jesse Owen's contradiction to the Nazi superhuman ideology - I think Motty should change his name to A.J.P Taylor. "The History Channel" have already signed him up to do the voiceover for the remake of "The World at War".......please retire Motty before you embarrass yourself anymore.

Two big club backside kissers of the first water. Imagine the love fest if they both had to commentate on a Liverpool vs Man Utd final for the BBC TV........... The telly screen would be drenched in dribble.

What was more interesting, bearing in mind motties driveling on, is that the achievements monument in the stadium (it's in the open area at one end of the ground), erected just after the games, and despite Hitlers embarrasment, has Jessie Owens name not only prominent, but on top of the roll of honour. How bizzare is that?

There is an option on the sound to just have the stadium crowd noise and no commentary at all, sounds like the best option

The BBC really should put "Motty" out to grass...and "Lawro" can go with him - what a pair of boring old farts.

Of course, ITV ain't much better.

Did anyone else notice how Motty kept getting Toni mixed up with Totti in the Italy game? He also kept getting Ze Roberto and Ronaldinho mixed up during the first half of the Brazil game.....Needs to be pensioned off methinks.

The media (BBC) love him so therefore we must adore him.

Listening to Mick McCarthy now and he can bore for England/Ireland.

Oh God! You'd need to be a manic depressive or something to enjoy his miserable, self righteous droning! I mean the criticism he dishes out! From a guy who's managed some of the worst teams I've seen!

Once you read this about Motty it will REALLY drive you nuts.............................................. .....................

Notice each time something 'exciting' is about to happen he starts the sentence with a big 'OH!!!!!!!!................' Sounds daft but its driving me mad, will go and look at the other audio options now.

There was a discussion somewhere about the BBC commentary team being "too hard" on England and many of the other teams. At the end of the day though, that's what they're there for. It would be crap if all they did was praise England even when they've played poorly.

Also, I can't believe a couple of people have dismissed Lawrenson. His hilarious deadpan commentary is often the best thing about a match.

He's not bad. His dislike of close-ups of the ball is quite funny.

Poor old Motto even got a full page to himself in the Mirror today slagging his senility off.

Looks like his days are numbered at the Beeb - everyone is noticing his problems now!!

Get Barry Davies back. I can still hear the LINEKAR shout in Mexico. Sends shivers down the spine.
He was more honest and less patronising than the rest.
