As a spiritual Australian and someone who got a houseload of Aussies watching football during my stint there, today I am rooting for the Aussies.

I thought the goal was fair and Japan were very hard done to by the ref by not getting the absolutly certain 100% penalty with 5 mins to go at 1-1 that would very likely have won them the game, that decision could have cost them their world cup which is big shame.

That all said I wanted to the Aussies to win and it was a fantastic finish to the game.

Agree with you on the penalty. Even the wife, who hates football, couldn't believe the Japan goal was given. If that would have been against England i think there would be an uproar.
