Rooney - Looking like he will be fit

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...2&in_a_source=

Back in training, kicking a ball, even scoring with a Scissors kick. Fingers crossed for the scan tomorrow, but it looks immensly positive now.

They are hopeing he will be fit enough to be on the bench for at least the final group game.

Looking good. the only thing we can compare this too is Beckhams injury in the last championship, and he didnt kick a ball until he was thrown on the pitch unfit.

Roony looks in a much better condition.

Thank God

Looks OK to me. This whole scan thing tomorrow must be cover-up, are they gonna let him train like today without knowing how the recovery is going inside? No - I reckon he's had scans everyday.

Exactly, don't you think Alex Ferguson has played this with a straight bat by trying to diffuse the situation, take some of the pressure of Rooney and allow him to heal without being under quite so much press scrutiny ?

I reckon Fergie knew all along he was going to be ready for the later stages, just wanted to play it down.

All we need now are strong referees - as he might as well take to the pitch with a large target painted on his toe.

He will certainly be a great asset to us in later games I've heard Alan Ball speaking highly about him

I thought he was out - most players have 2, 3 reserve games for their clubs after injury...and even then look off the pace when they get back into the first team....it's certainly gutsy to use the WC as the come back games!

I hope Sven doesn't use him until the knock out games...depending on results, why rush him back for Sweden if Crouch + Owen do OK? I'm of the opinion Rooney coming off the bench, similar to the role touted for Crouch pre-metetarsal could work well
