World Cup Guides

I went looking for a World Cup guide the other day. I know they're probably aimed at kids, but I usually get something just to have an overview of who's who etc. Anyway, this time I was more careful about finding something up to date. Easy to check - just see who has Theo Walcott in the England Squad. I checked books and magazines in Smiths and Waterstones and nothing I looked at had the correct squad. Rather depressingly (for Shaun and his fans), they all had Shaun Wright-Phillips as a key member of the England squad.

Anyone got a favourite guide? I thought the Match of the Day one looked good even if inaccurate. Anyone know of a guide with correct squads?

I wonder why they don't delay printing until the squads are announced. Admittedly I don't know anything about publishing, but I would have thought it was possible to get something produced and distributed fairly quickly. Most of the information could have been ready with just a last minute adjustment for surprises.

Yes, that's probably the best option. Sometimes I just prefer to read a book.

No other opinions?
Nobody work in publishing?

Fruitbat (like the name BTW!), have you heard of Michael Wray's Excel sheets? He does an excellent job of making such things for all Footy events.

You can fill in the results etc. to keep track but they also consist of a huge amount of info about the teams, stadiums, cities, players etc. Good history look up also of past WCs and past results for two teams against eachother.

Oh, and they're free!! Here's the link: http://www.michaelwray.co.nz/

Maybe not what you're looking for but maybe you'd be interested anyway.
