John Charles I believe, and according to this http://2002.fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/0...rg/kempes.html Mario Kempes was never booked or sent off when playing for Argentina, which, for an Argentinian is quite an amazing feat |

Is this players who have never been booked, or just players who haven't been booked while playing in the world cup?

I think most examples will be from the early days. You know, when physical contact was accepted.
Nowadays footballers fall down so easily just to get a possibly innocent player sent off, that I don't think you'll find many "modern" examples.
Sir Stanley Matthews may be another, and as far as I know Jackie Charlton was only ever booked on the telly advert running at the moment.

Sorry won't hear a thing said against this man! |
