Makes you proud to be British...except that there were only two English players on the pitch, and both of those were playing for Real.

But truly a fantastic performance by Arsenal.

As a Spurs fan of 35 years, I've just gotta say....well done you gooners!

I just love it when teams like Real Madrid get a lesson in what it takes to win: hard work and lots of skill.

Let's hope Chelski (and Rangers) do the business tonight, too. I think they'll need to take a good lead over to Spain, as the got ripped to pieces last time around.

Hmmmm...let's not jump the gun, Highbury's not exactly a 12th man like Anfield on European Nights (I know cos I've been to both this season on Euro nights)...Real are the sort of team that can come over to Highbury & spank them if they wanted.

..Well done anyway though.

Benfica were utter pants last night & nicked it, will be completely different at Anfield & I have absolutely no fear of going out. They are crap up front & so will sit back & we'll do him by 2 goals...

12th man on Euro nights! Man you guys just live the hype! I've been to Anfield (where the crowd 'suck' the ball into the net' ) many times and been totally underwhelmed by the noise. Old Trafford of old (and still today) and even Villa park when times are good are noisier. God forbid, even 'them' were louder when the shelf was still there. Yes Highbury, post all seater, isn't as noisy as Anfield, but when the guts have been kicked out of your stadia........

If Real play like they have been far too often this season (and did on Tuesday) then hopefully all will be well.

Benfica are weak up front - said the Liverpool fan! Hah! Some of you lot never cease to amaze me.............

C'mon the Gunners!!!

Can't believe i turned down tickets for the away game!!

Its not over yet though, we should be OK at Highbury but Real can score from nothing with the players they have. Maybe a few more first team players will be back by then. Let hope this (finally) kick starts ours season!

Don't remember saying we were any different but we can score goals from all over, as proven in the past.

Possibly, but again going on this seasons form, possibly not.

How can you lie through your teeth so much? Parkhead & Ibrox are only equally loud when they play each other, or play an English team. Old Trafford is about a 10th of the atmosphere - laughable you even said that. White Hart Lane is one of the best premiership atmospheres without a doubt but with no-one to take the mick out of on the opposition, would it be the same in Europe?

I was perplexed by Beckhams pre-match interview when he coyly suggested he would one day like to play alongside Thierry Henry...."pack yer bags posh, were off to North London!"

Why is a personal 'opinion' 'lying through my teeth'? I'm sorry but this is once again a case of YOU taking things personally and as such I will not be responding to any more of your provocative posts.

I note neither Neilo, nor Silver or many of the other Liverpool fans choose, and I use the word 'choose' carefully here, to 'take umbrage' in the way you do.

Please desist in trying to get someone who disagrees with you banned.

Daniell, I think he was referring to the days when he and Henry have retired to US 'soccer'................
