Andy Murray Wins First ATP Title
Andy Murray has just won his first ATP Tour title beating Lleyton Hewitt in the San Jose Final.
Having lost the first set he hit back straight away in the second set breaking twice to go 4-0 up , and went on to win the set. He then one the decider on a tie break
A real achivement, especially bearing in mind he beat Andy Roddick as well in the Semi Finals.
This should shoot him up the rankings and see him start getting seeded for touraments and winning plenty more.

Great stuff... once he gets his consistency up he should be a really good player.
Saw him in the Australian open, he was awful!
Still much more fun to watch than 'tiger' (whatever) Tim.

At last, a British player who can beat the best in the world and not bottle it in semi-finals / the final. I can truthfully say that I am not a tennis fan at all. However Henman has annoyed me for years with his 'little' punch in the air when he has played a decent shot , and his complete lack of bottle in the big tournaments......oh, and I don't like his hair - incisive tennis related comment Though, on the plus side, his Mrs is quite fit.

He is on the verge of becoming Britains No1, the lastest rankings have him at 47 with Tim and Greg only just ahead at 40 and 43 respectivley.
The fact that Murray has absolutley no points to defend in the Rankings list, I would expect him to pass them both within the next couple of events

Totally agree about that punch...oh, ah the hair - proper toffs hair I think
At least Murray shows a bit of passion when playing, and his Girlfriend was half bad looking either

Murray is a truly great British player. Of course if and when he loses at Wimbledon, he'll be Scottish again ......

Just wait and see what the press do to him. He will be the great British hope. Bet Henman is happier now that the spotlight has gone to someone else. What about "Murrays Mountain" at Wimbledon this year?(replacing Henmans Hill). The press will build him up and then knock him down as they do with all our sporting stars. He does look really cool though. Good luck Andrew!!
