U-19 Cricket World Cup

Anyone see the final between India and Pakistan today.

Paksitan were all out for a rather miserable 109 in only 41 overs so the Indian victory was only a formality.

As it was a day night match India only batted for 3 overs before "dinner" and in that short time they managed to score 9 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Their batting did improve a little after the break and they managed to get all the way up to 71 before losing their last wicket thanks to the comparatively large donation of 16 in extras from the Paksitani bowlers.

Playing under the lights made the ball zip around a bit for the Pakistanis but the 18 year old Anwar Ali and the 17 year old Jamshed Ahmed looked a real handful and could well be the Wasim and Waqar of the future.

To put things into perspective the "useless" Indians thrashed England in the semi finals

The captain of the England U19 team, Varun Chopra is the opening batsman, and he goes to my school. He made 3 runs and got out, I'm gonna tell him off.

That silly "diiner break" nonsense cost England, or thats what I am telling myself
Coming out for 3 or 4 overs serves no purpose at all.
It shows what a big thing experience is, it seems the non asian sides seemed to struggle throughout the tournament with conditions and that chasing totals proved a problem.
Was dissapointed in how England let India get such a big total, at 40 odd overs it looked like India would be restricted to a reasonable total and I think this put them under so much pressure they buckled in the response
Moeen Ali was actually the captain for this tournament and he made some por decisions in the choice of bowlers at the death, but he only 18 and as long as he learns from it, that something
