Quiz - Top Scorer

As most have you probably heard, Alan Shearer became Newcastle's all time scorer with 201 goals.

But it got us thinking. Who is the top British/English/World scorer for a professional team in all competitions ?

I know Ian Rush scored 336. Any higher ? Its bound to be a player who spent many years at one club

Is he the highest at a single club ?

did he get more than Rush at one of those 5 teams though?

He is. He is also the British, 'one club', highest scorer.

Good stuff. cheers

Anyone know who the highest English club player is ? Maybe Rush is actually it then as that makes it only 60 goals between him and Celtic (British highest)

As most have you probably heard, Alan Shearer became Newcastle's all time scorer with 201 goals.

Just so long as you don't count the 40 or so goals Jackie Milburn scored during the war years, which for some reason Newcastle doesn't recognise.

Lucky for Shearer. At the rate he's scoring these days, he'd need to play on for another six or seven seasons to get anywhere close.

yeah, it is a bit dodgy that. There has been a lot of talk up here about how quite a few of Shearers were penalties and Milburn didn't like taking them so all (majority) his goals are in open-play.

Henry's on 186 for Arsenal now, and got a couple of seasons left in him.
