At least there's more room for lots more trophies.

Does he know, you've posted photos of the inside of his house on the internet?

I'm not a Liverpool fan but off the top of my head I seem to remember Liverpool/Gerrard winning:

Champions League
FA Cup
UEFA Cup
Super Cup (twice)
Carling Cup (twice)

Not too bad really is it?

True, but Shearer has the scalps of Souness, Robson, Dalglish, Gullit and Keegan

And he never put a foot wrong

It was in the Sun last week. Apparently a lad who worked at the glazing firm who made the double glass doors took them....

Pete.

Blimey! We are cynical aren't we! There are only 3 or 4 trophies that any club can compete for - if you think that two of them aren't worth winning then where does that leave the game of football

Does anybody give a hoot about either of those trophies bar the clubs that reach the final? Nope. Years ago I would have agreed wholeheartedly Lex, but then I've been to games with gates of over 50,000 to see leauge cup matches, in the days when you played a full 1st team from round three. Nowadays they don't even play a full (or even close) 1st team in the semis.

If I'm cynical it's because the clubs have made me that way.

Even (as the excellent article in WSC pointed out this month) the FA cup has been undermined and undervalued to the point where it's gone from being a very close second to winning the leauge, down to probably less merit than the leauge cup had twenty years ago.

The only trophies the clubs care about now are those that attract the money. Ie the Prem and Champions leauge. To my great regret, having seen and been to some classic cup finals, everything else has been devalued down to nearly worthless.

I do agree with you that the cup competitions have been greatly devalued, and it does annoy me that many (most) managers only field their reserve teams in them... however this thread is getting wildly off-topic!

Have we got any pics of Steve Gerrards home cinema room?

Agreed, though it is still footy related......

A footballers HC gear? No thanks. I doubt that lot have the brain cells to put together a good setup. Unlike some of the snooker players. Steve Davis's hifi is excellent!
