Superbowl XL

Anyone else watching the Superbowl Extra Large? I have never watched American Football before but I thought I would give it a go tonight... haven't got a clue what is going on!

i think the uk will do an ok job of explaining while its happening, you know it takes 4 hours tho right?
good luck!
Remember you get 4 chances to make a "1st down" so its "1st 2nd and 3rd" down, if they dont make the 10 yards by the 3rd they usually punt it so they opposition has to start from further down field!
spiking the ball, timeouts and taking a knee wil confuse you, try not take notice of those bits!

Like rugby league but with forward passes... and 4 'downs' before 'turnover' instead of 6

Excellent game, Pittsburgh win 21 - 10.
Seattle had chances but threw I away on the big plays, QB Hasselbeck just didn't perform as he could and too many mistakes by the recievers.
Pittsburgh were however very fortunate with some decisions, particularly the Roethlisberger TD which I am not sure should have stood. The second and third TD were great though especially Hines Ward's TD (The Third) which capped off his MVP performance.
Overall Steelers just about deserved it.

Just watching the highlights now......a couple of shocking calls against Seattle.

No much chance of the Seattle kicker being around next season by the looks of it so far!!

The Roethlisberger TD WAS a TD. If you watch the angle that shows him lying 'face towards' the camera, you can see that the ball on his first impetus broke the goal plane. He was then hit and was moved backwards by the defender. But the rules say he has to break the plane.

The worst call was the one against Darell Jackson for the 'push-off' that was total rubbish!

But congrats to the Steelers, they worked harder for the win in my opinion, plus they beat the team that put the Redksins out of running..so as Skins fan I am happy! It was also great for Jerome to finish his career on the highest note there is

Its funny how people see things
I think Roethlisberger's arm was clearly pushed back before reaching.
However totally agree about the Jackson TD, it wasnt flagged until the Steelers guy got right up in the face of the Judge and had a go.
Thanks god for calls like both of those, been talking about them all day and got all sorts of views.
