Sent off for flicking Savages' hair probably

Ferdinand is one of the most infuriating players - played superb one week and looks like an amatuer the next week.

Yes, but he really is a thick, chav **** who represents all that is wrong with English football.

I really, really dislike him and when he did that chicken dance at the last world cup I wanted to jump into the TV and punch him..

Probably would just echo GrahamC's words really. Although given the chance if someone said "we'll pay you £75>100K per week " the majority of which will "not be performance related" wouldn't you dip your bread.
After buying a ludicrously fast expensive sports car (What the hell ... two) I would then at some point probably get caught speeding
I would only hope the arrogance which seams to endear many top flight footballers would not raise its ugly head.
But in the real world I think its part and parcel of what makes a footballer 'a footballer'. In many cases being the showboater - the cockey challenger - the win at all costs attitude is what seperates them from me and you. I've seen loads of guys who can play really good football, (Sunday league / Conference) many of which you could say had an equal share of skill - the diffrence (IMHO) was all in the head, the bit that makes them want it more. Yes I know there have been many who have handled the lifestyle with some decorum, they I think are to be applauded.

Anyway for my sin's I'm a season ticket holder at Old Trafford, but wouldn't say for one minute that any of the players earn there money, or deserve to drive around in the vehicles that they do.

Back to you Captain.

Do any of them? As a wise man once said, "pay a man all the money he wants for his labours - and he won't". The more they earn the less, they want to do to earn it. Time for a re-think on wages. But, as before, unless FIFA impose a ceiling it's pointless.

Leave him alone, maybe he is "chav"ish because he grew up in one tough estate, Peckham were Damilola Taylor (sp) grew up, I read his biography. No need to attack him on a personal level.

Anyway, he is has been a bit off recently. After Roy Keane vented his anger, Rio has been playing great, scoring goals as well, and getting well involved in attacks, something you see Cafu and R. Carlos do for Brazil. But why do Utd play him in CM?

can't stand savage, he's one player who like to try and be a hard man but for a hard man he sure does go down like a sack of ****.
Reading nuts the other day and it had razor ruddocks hardest men in the prem.
And only keano and d.ferguson where given the title.
The rest like joey barton and robbie savage and a few others where just wind up merchents.
Its true about the hard men, they can give and take it.
unlike savage.

True about the hard men being able to take it, remember Stuart Pearce getting headbutted by some French player, having blood run down his face and he never flinched.

Even by then (the late 80's) there were less of the blood and thunder players of old. With FIFA cracking down on tackles (full stop) the age of the likes of McKay, Bremner (well, all the 'great' Leeds side really!), Smith, Souness, Harris etc, etc has long passed.

There aren't any real 'hard men' anymore. Even Keane could dish but didn't 'like it back'. As his book showed........
