Annoyed we've let Pongolle go to Blackburn, would rather have loaned them Cisse. If Nando or/& Fowler pick up injuries we're stuffed

Why the 'if' with him? Great player, long past his best. Methinks that transfer was a diversion and not a serious move.

man utd seem to be failing in all their bids to bring in a midfielder.. unless fergie gets lucky in the next 6 hours, we're going to be stuck with a makeshift midfield full of wingers, strikers and defenders for the rest of the season.. scary though really, although rio and o'shea both do ok in the centre of the park, better than Smith anyway.

No one for a single second is expecting him to be anything like he was 10 years ago but on recent evidence he's still more effective than Morientes & Cisse put together...

Sheringham continues to do a job & you've kept Bergkamp way further past his sell by date so I'm extremely happy with the signing...

There's no diversion, we need someone with passion for the club, who's an outstanding finisher - we've got him for £0.00 & £20k a week. Rafa knows it & has the guts to do it unlike certain other managers who persist week in week out with the likes of Cygan, Pires, Senderos, Campbell, Lauren, Ljundberg, Bergkamp, Gilberto, Lehmann .....who i think you'll agree are all either past their best or plain useless in the first place...

Not a deadline deal , but Routledge to Portsmouth . All that hassle to get away from Crystal Palace , and half a season later finds himself in another relegation battle . Wonder what Simon Jordan , and more importantly IanJ thinks

I dont think there is much to say really, he still has a big future at Spurs.
He has been very unfortunate with injuries, his only two games for Spurs have been against Portsmouth!!. Lennon and Jenas have done well and it would be wrong to drop one of those now. Routledge will get fit and play at Portsmouth come back, have anothe rgreat Pre Season and I'm sure he will figure big next season

As big a future as the other midfielder they signed today ? How many do they have now , are all the guys loaned out / sold midfielders ?

I always thought that he flattered to deceive. Supremely skillful on the ball when taking on and running past defenders but never seemed to know quite what to do with it next. He's still only young and will no doubt improve but having bought him it would seem that not only is he is quite a way down the Spurs pecking order but they are still linked with every half decent winger around.

He scores a few goals off the subs bench, can't get 1st team football due to numerous below par performances, and he's better than Cisse? Methinks you're viewing this thru rose coloured, never mind tinted, glasses. Please note I think Robbie's a great lad (even though he's slapped umpteen goals past us!), but a reality check is needed here.

Sheringham and Bergkamp are different players. They got by on brains, not finishing power. To be a top finisher, you need to be fully fit - Robbie hasn't been for years.

Passion for the club? Why not get Keegan back then? He's probably just as fit.........

Benitez? Guts? He starts losing a few points then tries to divert Liverpool fans from grumbling by signing an old fave. Where's the bravery in that?

What has playing that useless shower got to do with guts either? Playing Cygan, Senderos, Lehman shows arrogance not 'guts'. Lauren, Gilberto, and Pires (when he's in the mood) can still all produce good performances. Campbell, like Robbie, has seen one injury too many. Freddies still got it in him, but he needs a new club.

Just stick to criticaly assessing your own players. If you can..........

Apparantley they want him to play left midfield I know he can play there but surely he is most effective in the centre.
We sell 3 midfielders because we have too many, then go and buy 2 more

Oooooo you are so blinkered. & you think Cisse is better than Fowler??? I've heard everything now...I'd rather Diouf back than Cisse. Neil Mellor is better than Cisse. Cisse should join a bobsleigh team cos all he's got is pace....

Did I say that? Cisse isn't fit to clean the boots of a fit Robbie Fowler, seven years ago, at his prime. Is this the same Cisse that fans last year were deriding as yet another overhyped Liverpool buy? Yet Liverpool fans wouldn't accept that? Hmmmm.

Blinkers? Rednoses get fitted with them at birth..........

I have stated all along that I rate Robbie, and frankly would love to see him still do well. But now, in 2006? I think it's highly unlikely - in the real world. Although there are times when I wonder if the 'big five' operate in the real World anymore.

Finally, how is that blinkered? Or is this yet another 'let's get overkill banned' session starting up?

Get with the system Overkill, you're starting to sound like Barrymore where everyone's against him...

My opinion on Fowler is based on fact, your's is just a rant...
