Lightbulb MotoGP - Rossi again?

Here's one for bike fans.

Only 8 weeks until the new season

Will Rossi wipe the floor again this year or will he have some decent competition?

Rossi again for me - if he keeps his interest levels up - he's not got a lot to prove to anyone or himself (his worst enemy is himself).

I think Melandri and Hayden will push him a bit, but Rossi to win again with 3 races to spare. Gibbo should be back this year after a nightmare year.

I just love the celebrations after each race he wins - the snow white and 7 dwarfs was just superb!! Even the wife thought that was great!

I'd like to think that Hayden will really come to the fore this season. He looks comfortable aboard the Honda now and he can push Rossi hard, especially as he will now know the circuits a lot better. Sete is still to fragile in the mind to win the championship; one bad thing happens and he just gives up. My tip for the crown this year has to Edwards. Fast, smooth and can set a bike up well. He will be serious competition.

I think a lot depends on the new Honda...

Hayden will be serious competition if it's good in race conditions, I'd love to see Edwards do well but I think Rossi > Hayden > Melandri for this years title.

BSB is gonna be cool..... roll on Cadwell.

It really is just Rossi for me.

And is it really only just 7/8 weeks away ....? Blimey! Time has flown past

Wonder how this is all gonna fit in with him testing the f1. Any idea when he tests next to Schumi? I remember reading on the beeb website that he would be very soon.

What about Biaggi for Superbike supremo?

He just aint been near it though since the R7 days.... I so wish he would. He was such awesome fun to watch, specially with his totaly unique BALLS OUT line threw the corkscrew.

As for F1 - my dream, Schumi signs for another year, Massa gets sacked and Rossi OWNS Schumi in his first year. 1 second off in testing? My dream was only a dream but stone me ... 1 second shows its no longer a dream and just an unlikely possibility. I wonder if you can get any odds at the bookies for Rossi being in the top 3 at the end of his first seaon?

I think he'll be pushed harder this yr than he has been for several yrs,and almost certainly by Melandri,if he keeps his head together.

Hayden should do well, and I'd have thought that Pedrosa will do better than he should for a rookie yr.

Not a bad performance at Valencia either...that should be fun as the yr goes on too.

He does have a fantastic style, reminds me of ex-WSB nutter Anthony Gobert, he used to be just as entertaining to watch.

When it gelled last year Haga did get some decent finishes, especially for first year on a new bike. I'm gonna bung a few quid on him this year I think as you can't go far wrong with Haga on a Yam.

I used to go to Valencia every year to get a bit of sun, sink a few cold ones (Cevesa) and sit right on the tight corner next to the stand that Haga undercut EVERYONE on.

Oh and one year Whitam binned it (oh what a surprise) right underneath us. Got some cool shots of him .... which I subesquently lost on a hard disk failure.

The memories ....

I think it'll be an interesting year,as was last year....even if Rossi does win most of the races(and I think it will be a much harder job this time, with the Ducatis and Hondas up to strength) the racing is so much closer than F1 and in any given race,at least 3-5 riders DO have a really good chance of a win.

I feel that this year will be the closest (on paper) that any other rider has a chance to give him a proper run for the title ...Im really excited about the prospects of mr Ellison on a yamaha ,time to show his true colours

I don't think it will be all Rossi this year, but I expect he will raise his level yet again. I'm really interested in how Pedrosa will get on with the move up and I think the Ducati's will continue to improve again.

My pick, Rossi again, followed by Melandri, but alot closer then last year

Haga is definitely a fun driver to watch. Hopes he clinch a title, as he's been so close so many times.

On Motogp, oh yes, Rossi again ;D

I know it's early but does anyone know of any 'streaming' sites that broadcast the Motogp series? I realise I can sign up and pay on the Motogp website for full coverage, but that is the last resort. I'm fed up with the American coverage of the races as the picture quality is very very poor, adverts every 2 laps lasting for 1.5 laps, don't show the races live (sometimes have to wait until the Tuesday to see the races!). I know there are sites for football etc etc but not too sure for the bikes. Cheers in advance.

Now I'd love to see Alonso do this, the last paragraph. I Don't think he would get anywhere near Rossi or any of the top 15 riders in Motogp. Wins one title and thinks he's the greatest!

Well, after the Sepang testing I'm hoping to see Nakano on the podium a bit more this year!

The 3rd day testing also produced good results, so now me and the missus are thinking of going to Malaysia this year - yippee! Then she just might agree to do Motegi two weeks later, with any hope! We both wanted to go to Philip Island but she has too much work on at that time - boo hoo..

I think Rossi will keep upsetting Sete, making him produce more mistakes (and if he pushes Shinya out again my wifes gonna thump him!! ). Would like to see him 'focus' more on his game and produce the 'goods'.

Marco would be a nice outsiders bet but I think I would be set on Hayden, rookie of the year maybe Pedrosa!!

Going to switch to digital this year so hope that some events like Sachsenring,Sepang,Motegi and China will be in HD. (Still want to record even if we go)

You can find some great shots on 'crashnet.com'

Stroll on next month
