Sports Brand Wars

I have just been watching an interesting article on Channel 4 news.

Supposedly Adidas have been banned from displaying their 3 stripes on kits and the like at the next Olympics and Wimbledon, amongst others events. Supposedly the likes of Nike, Reebok etc have successfully put pressure in the right places on some judges somewhere who have now deemed the three stripes to be an unfair advertising advantage. i.e. Nike has a single swoosh on the front of t-shirts whereas adidas have 3 stripes down the sleeves as well!!

How ridiculous is that.

They also reported that any German player not wearing adidas clothing and boots at the next world cup will be dropped from the squad!!

Utter bull. The tick, big cat, and reebok thing are known worldwide

But then maybe this is right as Adidas have bought Reebok...you get what I'm getting at?

I still blame Adidas for making Beckham fall over for all his penalties for England !
There was a football exhibition in Lisbon during the Euro 2004 Championship and myself and my mate had a semi-rant at a bemused German on the Adidas stand accusing their boots of sabotaging England's chances
