It used to be the marathon event alone. The Olympics...just the marathon.

I wonder if they paid for a driver for George Michael, just in case he fell asleep at the wheel of his Range Rover on his way to the stadium.

Didn't look like Lennon that big foam thing. Oasis did a face of Lennon thing far better years ago digitally

At least he can sing and perform without the aid of a backing track or Zimmer frame

Nothing against George Michael.

Love his songs from the last century album.

I would like to make a public apology to Sir Paul - your performance at the Opening Ceremony really wasn't THAT bad.

Excellent!

Mods.

Now let's get Lemmy and crew in the mix and have a big fight.

Very traditional - very British.

I wondered that at the Opening Ceremony. The omission is glaring - one of the biggest bands in the world, arguably the second biggest British band of all time (I'd argue biggest, but it tends to upset Beatles fans) and it's their 59th anniversary, yet nothing. We're they even asked to perform? I'd have expected at least a dedication.

Led Zep could be argued for too, though I think everyone knows that asking them to reform - even for one gig - is an utter waste of time.
