New to golf, would like a little advice please.

I just started to take an interest in golf and going to the driving range with the old man. He gave me his old clubs and apparently Ive got a good swing and hit the ball long and straight (most of the time).

Question I wanted to ask is I have just bought my self a set of clubs, I didnt like having all odds and sods and wanted a decent bag so took the plunge.

The iron set i bought only come with a 4 iron and up, there is no 3 iron. Do I need a 3 Iron?? I have a 19 degree hybrid from the clubs that my dad gave me, is this a good substitute for the 3 iron.

any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks

Lee.

You'll find the 19° Hybrid will go much further than you could hit a 3 iron so it might leave you with a large yardage gap between your clubs but it not something you should really worry about if you're just starting out.

The Hybrid will be much more forgiving and easier to hit from the tee & fairway so it's a great club to have in the bag.

I've got a 3I but prefer hitting a standard 3 wood if I'm on the fairway, you'll be cool with that!
