Calling all darts players

Hello folks

Sorry if in wrong forum.

Any darters in the forum?

I am looking to buy some darts but are confused over which to get. There is nylon shafts and aluminium shafts etc. Which of the two is better or does it not really matter?

Cheers

there's no god given rule when buy a set of darts but my few tips are to
firstly best to choose a weight of dart between 20g- 26g(i prefer a 24g/25g dart) which is the most common weight bracket.
secondly choose a shape dart you like the look of.
the higher tungsten % is preferred(90% is good marker).

aluminium shafts are no better than nylon to be honest but the length of shafts very and offer different shape of flight of dart when thrown as do flights standard, pear, wing etc

so overall buy a set of darts you like the look of preferably around the 90% mark and between 20-26 grams in weight(each dart) buy a selection of various shaped flights and various length of nylon stems to play around with to get a set up you prefer and most importantly practice

another note is that i'm looking to downsize my collection of darts(over 30 top brand quality sets) some new, some used and may well be able to sort you out a set and everything else needed to get you started.

i can also sort you out a selection of stems, flights also even a dartboard etc aswell

let me know if interested and we maybe able to sort something out and get a deal done in the classifieds section of forum

Great stuff, Dan. Cheers. If you can get a little list together, we can take it to the classifides.

Does anyone have a preference over aluminium shafts or nylon shafts? Also heard of laser etched ones

I use aluminium at the moment, but it depends, i'm not that good, but when i get a little run of form going i tend to stick with whatever i'm using at the time, Then when i have a bad run, i tend to change stems/darts/flights. It's just mixing and matching until you find a combination that works.

I generally tend to use around 21/22g darts. I just can't get away with anything heavier.

I use nylon shafts simply because they are cheaper. Performance wise, there is no difference between the 2. Buy all my gear from Red Dragon, if they haven't got what you need, it's not worth having
