To be honest its 12 pages long and I couldn't be bothered to read it all.

Anyone want to post a 1 line summary?

For some reason, he enquired about his own seat, which came up on their system as 'sold' (of course) and he bought another ticket instead.

It's only linked to football, it's not football talk.
It's about sheer stupidity.

The comedy gold is in the first couple of pages, the rest is comments from the audience

The DFS remark had me in stitches

One thing that doesn't appear to have been covered, perhaps I'm wrong.
But let's say his name is Frank Smith.

"Hello, I'd like to enquire about seat 12A"
"Sorry sir, that seat isn't available for sale"
"Oh....ok, I'll have another ticket please"
"Ok, can I have your name sir?"
"Frank Smith"

Surely the phone operative's next comment should have been:

"That's the same name that's against the original seat, sir...I don't suppose you're the same Frank Smith?"

To be fair Frank Smith is probably a very common name mate, so doubt it.

But what are the chances that 2 Frank Smiths are both trying to buy the same seat for a Charlton match?

Fantastic thread, page 5 is my favourite when the penny finally drops. The Restaurant scenario seems to be the clincher.

haha what a spanner. Why would he even think he needs to get a ticket for the game? I'm hoping he's just borrowed the season off someone and has never used one before and thinks you have to produce it at the ticket office to get a paper ticket. Otherwise, I feel for any kids he may have

I'm sure this must be a wind up. Surely if he's that stupid he would have tried to buy his seat ticket for every other home game as well - or am I missing something

That's what I found really odd. He says it's his first season ticket in years, so he made a mistake, but what about the rest of the season? Unless it's not his and he's borrowed it off someone.
