How come Marlon King gets a prison sentence, and rat face gerrad gets off with it.

We all seen the clear video evidence of that DJ being attacked by gerrad.

How can that be?

If you cannot see the difference between the two crimes then God help you.

There is never, ever an excuse for hitting a woman. Particularly when her only 'crime' is rejecting the advances of a creepy ass footballer.

what so if a scally woman came up and for no reason punched you in the face and broke your nose you'd just take it?

i think its such an old fashion thing to say you should never hit a woman, its almost like saying they're inferior in some way, im all for equal rights, given the right circumstances i would have no problem hitting a man or woman, theres some pretty tough ladettes around ya know.

They both should have been charged, 'course gerrard's mates took the rap for him. No doubt they'll be getting some nice pressies for xmas :P

I wouldn't go that far. Yeah I'd agree 100% on those that just hit women in an argument, or because they don't do as they're told.

My thing is to not hit anyone that doesn't deserve it, be it a woman, man, child or o.a.p and animals.

You could use that logic on a teenager, but if a couple of 13 year olds started attacking you would you just take it?

Some women are rough, and I personally won't let anyone hit me without defending myself.

You could also put your logic on animals, people who mis treat animals are scum, I wouldn't hurt an animal, but if one started attacking me I wouldn't think twice.

edit: and the footballer who smacked the woman for no reason was bang out of oder, we'll see how he deals with someone bigger giving him a smack.

Probably because Gerrard fights like a bitch baby girl and couldn't knock a daffodil over, whereas Marlon King punched some bird's lights out after copping a feel. There's a bit of a difference...but yes, I think Gerrard should be jailed just for being a snide, whinging, weasel-faced, greedy, childish arsehole.

He did get off the charge so is now officially and innocent man isn't he?

sure i read somewhere that King has 10+ previous convictions including some for violence against Women.

Fair cop guv if you ask me.....

A lot of kids look up to footballers (god knows why mind..) He's hardly the kind of role model kids need.

I'm assuming you were in the jury for both cases, meaning that you could see all the evidence presented and have an accurate view of both trials?

Face it: none of us posting here know the full facts in either case other than the verdicts.

Apparently "it came to light King had three prior instances of sexual assault against women since 2003".

Sounds as though justice has been seen to be done.

One thing is apparent though, in Marlon King's case he got convicted based on the testimonies of several people present on the night, in Steven Gerrard's case, everyone saw with their own eyes what he did on the CCTV video, yet one gets it while the other walks away totally free.

While Marlon King deserves all he's going to get I think Gerrard didn't get what he deserved and I think that's simply because of who he is, and that's not right.

Dave Whelan came out and said he always thought Marlon was not actually that into football, he treated it like a job, one of the reasons he was out on loan and a very god way to cancel a contract and save yourself £million+

If it was an important player, say a clubs top scorer, would they sack them then? i guess we'll never know until it happens.

Joey Barton is still playing so i think Marlon King will still be playing next year.

anyway they're two different people, Barton wants to play football and has football in his blood where as Marlon plays football because it pays well \ good life style etc

and before anyone asks no i don't personally know Marlon but but previous managers and players have suggested that his heart just wasn't into football.
