And to make matters worse it was a LFC fan that threw it onto the pitch

He has no problem getting back though and covering as a ball stopper.
I welcome him against the top 3.

Re: Man City's new signing....

I think the strangest thing is Bent is now scoring all the time!

Shame he couldn't do it consistently for Spurs.....

Just goes to show what a run in the team will do for someone's confidence. That along with knowing he is the main man rather than having a few other strikers on his shoulder ....... he always seemed to play well / score for Spurs but Harry's comments about his mother could have scored that seemed the final straw.

Re: Man City's new signing....

Mike Jones, the referee who incorrectly awarded Darren Bent's goal, will not officiate in the Premier League this weekend, he has been penalised with relegation to Championship for this weekend.

FIFA's laws of the game state "the referee should stop, suspend or abandon the match because of outside interference of any kind", meaning the goal should have been ruled out and the match re-started with a drop ball.

Re: Man City's new signing....

i never quite understand why refs get demoted to the Championship when they make a mistake in the Prem, if they aint good enough for a Prem game then they shouldnt ref at all, why fob them off to the Championship etc

He's no (and never will be) Defoe though my mate. Outrageously overpriced player.

I'm happy with the Spurs attack. Pleased for Bent but praying Cappello doesn't bring him next year over Crouch.

It's another Premier League/FA 'oh we need to be seen as doing something about it' tactic, IMO

It was his wife Sandra that he said could of scored that. He was right also it was a shocking miss against Pompey that cost us points.

I stand corrected.

On the subject of the beach ball, local bookie Fred Done is offering odds of 1/2 that a beach ball makes it onto the pitch tomorrow .... is that too good a bet to refuse? Seems pretty obvious to me that the United fans will go armed with them

Liverpool put out a statement yesterday saying that people will be getting searched going into the ground and all inflatables will be confiscated.
