Thanks: Gave 7, Got 0 | carl froch
why is this being shown on primetime tv at a cost of £12.95p plus £2 something booking fee ! not much loyalty being shown by froch to the british viewing public, this whole pay per view thing is getting way out of hand, the biggest con ever paying for sky sports,, then having to pay extra for sports events, people in the uk just let everyone walk all over them, we should all get together, for say, the haye fight, and nobody pays for it, it will be repeated the following week on sky anyway, boxers are getting far to greedy now ! " no. 1 " me, not paying for haye fight, ok lets get this protest rolling !
cheers fight fans !

Its not been shown on TV because none of the Channels wanted it. It was discussed one night this week on R5L.
Listen again is you friend

The thing is, it's not even the boxers, it's the promoters, Froch doesn't give it the big "I am", he's a very genuine, down-to-earth guy and isn't all up himself (apart from a boxers natural confidence of their own ability to beat the other guy), let's be honest neither of these fighters are "huge" names and i'm sure they would have happily been on ITV, Froch certainly would have as he's got a lot of publicity on there, but the problem was they were not up to paying the money for it, and as John pointed out it's been talked about and I believe that the ITV and the BBC are pulling out or dramatically reducing their boxing in the next year.
Hopefully something will happen to keep all the boxing from being PPV because it's ridiculously expensive, people will still pay it though sadly, but a lot of people will be finding out about the ways of getting it online for cheaper or for free.
But you can't blame Froch for this, he's not a big demanding type, and his promoter Hennessey isn't exactly a big demander usually, I wonder if it's because of the whole Super Six thing... it's a strange one...

Because its on at 2am and ITV will get no advertising revenue from showing it then and the chances of BBC spending money on boxing after the Audley Harrison fiasco is nil

Froch is fighting in Nottingham in the UK, no venue over here is stupid enough to have live boxing on at 2am, is a no brainer, I think it's on in about 30 minutes, no later than 11:30 i'd imagine...
Edit: Oh, well I apologise, I just had a look and the BBC are saying first bell at 2am... strange how it's in a UK venue at that time...

the tv stations are stupid then, surely almost every boxing fan in the world wants the see the top 6 super middle weights in the world in the wee competition? even if they dont show it live the could show it at 2pm on sunday and get plenty of people watching it, kessler will win this, froch is full of himself without even beating a top name at the top of his game and if he thought taylor hit him hard in the 3rd wait till the mighty kessler clips him

I tried to buy it all night and was having no luck, Kept being told to ring them and couldn't get through.
Was watching it online when my mate said that it was on the channel anyway and he hadn't paid.
I stuck it on and low and behold it was on primetime and i hadn't paid for it either.
Anyway. Froch is a mug. His post fight interview was a joke saying he deserved the win and that Dirrel was a negative fighter because he didn't go on the attack. He showed a complete lack of respect even more so when Dirrell was robbed of the win, He totally outclassed Froch frustrated him Froch couldn't get near him and he was the much better fighter.
He runs his mouth off too much and thinks he's better than he is. The only reason he's won so many fights is because he's got a granite chin so it allows him to just be a big hitter and forget about tecnique at times. Calzaghe will have had a field day.
On the showing last night and with Taylor getting destroyed by Abraham Kessler will be sat at home laughing, He should win this tournament easily.
Dirrell vs Abraham will be a good fight though.
