Re: Any NHL fans here?

Its been a while, but I can't wait to start watching the NHL again now that I've got ESPN America in my tv package. I used to watch it loads when I lived in Canada in the early 90's and was a bit of a LA Kings fan - mainly because of Wayne Gretzky. Don't know who I'll support now, although because of my Canadian connections I've always had a soft spot for the Maple Leafs.

Don't know what the channel number is on Sky, but its on channel 531 on Virgin - ESPN America.

Re: Any NHL fans here?

Long time Pittsburgh Penguins fan here since the early Mario Lemieux days, still over the moon about winning game 7 in Detroit last year.

Back to back cups.

Re: Any NHL fans here?

I tried to watch a couple of games on TV last week while I was in Canada, but I just couldn't get into it.

It looks like one of those games that's fun to play, but it just doesn't translate to TV very well. Perhaps on a giant screen in HD it would be alright, but on a normal TV, the puck just disappears and you can't see what they're doing. I suppose it's a cultural thing; If you've been brought up with it and play it at you local rink/lake then you'll probably love it.

Rangers fan here too.

Make sure that I time my trips to NYC so I can go to MSG and take in a game. It's such an awesome atmosphere there.

Great start for the Blueshirts so far. Played 7, won 6

Re: Any NHL fans here?

I love watching the NHL. Only started following it at the start of last season and got hooked straight away. I watch on the fly most days and try to watch a live game every week. it's even better now we get ESPN as we get not only ESPN America but also ESPN Hd. The games look superb in HD . All at no extra cost

I wouldn't say I follow 1 particular team but i also like the Rangers, and also NJ Devils and Philadelphia

Thinking of asking the wife for an NHL jersey for Christmas this year
