When the going gets err.. going, Sol gets going..

Yes, after 1 appearance for Notts County, Sol Campbell has quit the club! Not quite sure what he expected from a League 2 club, but surely he could have managed a little more loyalty than this...

although i have a sneaking suspicion, judging by comments from Harry Redknapp recently that this was orchestrated to get him back to Tottenham so they have someone to play in defence, but the funny part is the FA have now said he cannot sign for another club till January so if that was the case, he's well and truly stuffed!

Looks like he was popular with Morecambe anyway..

Re: When the going gets err.. going, Sol gets going..

it is just such a strange decision. He can't even sign for a club until jan so might aswell earn the 40 k a week wage until then.
Rumour has it that he thinks he can still get a worldcup place which i personally think is a joke. i would put titus bramble ahead of him (he actually hasn't been playing that bad)

Re: When the going gets err.. going, Sol gets going..

Strange but he's wealthy enough to not have to work. Shame for the county fans but if he's left for footballing reasons I respect him for that, not just willing to cash a cheque at a club when you hearts not in it. Unlike Beckham who wants to have his cake and eat it for Galaxy.

I don't think his head is right some of the time, do you remember when he left Arsenal and was talking about moving into acting.

Sol's just a big man with feelings..leave him alone!

Don't think he ever recovered after taking a battering at home to West Ham when playing for Arsenal. Taken off at the break and found asleep in the changing rooms at full time with his iPod on repeat..

BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | N | Notts County | Eriksson 'let down' by Campbell

"we thought we should have him for longer"

If I was on 40K a week I'd work for 5 or 6 months and then retire.

Never, ever, gonna happen.

Daniel Levy may be many things, but stupid isn't one of them.

Re: When the going gets err.. going, Sol gets going..

Maybe he realised he just made a poor decision.

I can imagine him thinking last week 'I've played in the World Cup, the Euro's. I've won the Prem, the FA cup, League Cup and played in the Cup Winner's Final. And now I'm playing at Morceambe. How's it come to this!'

Shouldn't (and couldn't) he have thought about that before signing on the dotted line? He must have realised that it would be a severe drop in standard!

He should be sued for a proportion of Notts future losses (financially)

I wonder how many people bought County shirts with his name on them? I think there might be a few upset people there!

"For any fan that bought a new Notts' shirt and had 'Campbell' printed on the back, I am pleased to offer a voucher for the club shop for a replacement shirt."

I suppose it's better than them having to wait until they sign Super Kevin Campbell
