Re: liverpool sign new shirt deal.

About time we signed a deal somewhere near what the other top prem sides are earning out of sponsorship. We've been left behind with Carlsberg for ages.

The London-based international bank, Standard Chartered, are believed to be behind the deal starting in mid-2010 which should give the manager, Rafael Benítez, some much-needed funds for the transfer market.
The way the Americans are with the club's money Rafa will be lucky to see a penny of that.

Sounds like a great deal for the club - I hope Rafa gets to use of of the cash to stregthen the squad and that our 'wonderful' owners don't use it to pay off some the interest on their loans / debts

Re: liverpool sign new shirt deal.

I liked the idea of us being loyal to one sponsor (only 4 in our history) but the game is so money orientated now, only the best offers should be considered. End of an era though....

About time agreed, looks like this new chief exec looks like he could be of some use instead of the useless rick parry for keping with carlsberg
