Were you satisfied with your club's transfers this window?

Obviously excepting Man €ity, who attempted to sign all the strikers in the world in a sure-fire attempt to win the Premiership , were/are you satisified with how your club did deals during this transfer window?

Give your vote, followed by your club and a reason or two why your gave your vote please!

EDIT: please also include your start of season expectations of league finish before your club's transfers and also your revised expectations after all signings have been concluded.

Thanks

Re: Were you satisfied with your club's transfers this window?

I am an Aston Villa fan.

I am on the whole happy with our signings. We were/are a little light at the back and as long as we eventually sign Dunne, as we are reported to be able to tomorrow, then I suppose I will be happy.

I would liked to have signed another adventurous midfielder, as I don't really believe we have directly replaced either Barry or Laursen, although I think that we potentially have players that could grow enough to fill their respective boots in Fabian Delph and possibly Ciaran Clark.

My start of season expectations before all the signings was 8th, but with the signings I believe we can repeat last season's 6th.

How can you say he is a waste of space? He is one of the most respected chairs in the league? Don't get me wrong, you are big club but you don't have the pulling power of the big 4 (or 5 these days) to get the stars to sign.

I am a Bolton supporter and it has been pretty disappointing. We have strengthened in area's we needed but paid too much for them. That left us seriouslt short of the cash needed to get a decent striker and more importantly an attacking midfielder/playmaker to supply the front and add goals. My optimistic side says we will be lower mid table again, my negative side thinks we may well slip into oblivion.

I'm sure Sky weren't - they were so excited about today and nothing much happened. They had reporters posted around the country, outside grounds and training camps but nowt!!

Loved the interview with Harry Redknapp - he said that about 95% of what Sky tried to claim was goign to happen around Spurs was all nonsense. Yet SSN pushed all these all day to claim they were in the pipeline.

What do you think about your club's transfers?

Think you'll stay in the fizzy pop after losing so many?

I've said no as i hoped Arsenal would sign an experienced Holding midfielder, although seeing Songs performances so far im slowly starting not to worry so much.

Hull City ballsed their window up yet again...I can't wait to get off the merry-go-round and watch proper football in the Championship again.

Re: Were you satisfied with your club's transfers this window?

I would say no. Phillipe Senderos, who has fallen out of favour big time at Arsenal, was reported weeks ago on the official Swiss FA website as going to Everton yet went nowhere. He's now falling stock having not featured in a single squad so far this season and was valued at £6m-ish

And Wenger signed nobody else but that's hardly a shocker!

Hull put in a Mickey Mouse offer for Senderos and it was batted away as with all our other transfer "opportunities".

Re: Were you satisfied with your club's transfers this window?

I voted no - Benitez sold one key player and has replaced him with a man who won't be for fit for the first 7 or 8 games of the season. Throw in no back-up for our only striker of quality and the lack of funds coming from the owners and all in all it's been a pretty poor transfer window for Liverpool where the majority of the time has been spent battling against big name exits.

The only silver lining is the amount of players who signed new contracts and that Barca didn't get Mascherano.

Johnson does look quality though and given the inflated nature of the market right now, i actually think he represents fairly good value for money.

One surprising and under-reported fact about Man City's transfer window was that while we signed 8 players, we sold, released or loaned around 26! A much more manageable squad now, but (hopefully) higher quality. I have never known a transfer window like it.

Probably, but then I think Gibson is wanting to cut his cloth accordingly now. Still, I'm happy that we mugged your lot off and sold you a crock for £12m.

Well pleased with our signings at the Lane. Crouch gives us plan B, Bassong a great start will only get better whilst Krancjar has to the touch of the window.
Don't forget Naughton & Walker 2 very promising full backs.( Walker back at Sheff on loan)

Blinkin relieved that Jar Jar & Calamity didn't turn up.Phew, dodged a bullet or two there.

I'm not really happy.....I was desperately hoping Wenger would buy a holding midfielder, because we are horribly light in that area.

Re: Were you satisfied with your club's transfers this window?

We finished second last year behind a good manchester united team who have lost the best player in the world (apparently) and tevez now was the time to invest a little bit of the owners own cash and build a decent squad, he has operated on a profit in this transfer window and maybe blowing a great chance of our first league title in many a year.

The sale of Alonso is a big loss but i accept and understand why he was sold to slow and doesnt score enough goals and i trust our manager to the hilt

Does it surprise you? It's much easier to label us with a "The richest club with a million strikers but LOL lose against Stoke City"-esque tag.

Re: Were you satisfied with your club's transfers this window?

Obviously, I'm delighted with the transfer window.

As Munkey Boy says, the players that left were almost as pleasing as the players that joined (almost).... the likes of Hamann, Vassell, Ball, Ben Haim, Bojinov, Elano, Jo, Caicedo, Fernandes, Mills, Schmeichel, Evans, Sturridge, Berti etc etc were all done in the right way and I agree 100% with what Hughes has done. Shame that Richard Dunne had to leave.

On the signings, we have done superbly well to fill the positions we needed. Two top quality centre halves (Toure and Lescott) one of the best English central midfielders in Gareth Barry and of course our strikers Adebayor, Tevez and Santa Cruz. We also added Stuart Taylor and Sylvinho as valuable and experienced back up.

Yes we have chucked money around this summer but I think we have bought quality, proven and experienced premiership players rather than bringing in loads of "names" but I'm sure this will prove much more successful .... well, I hope anyway.

The signs are there already and last season we only managed a point from the two away games at Blackburn and Portsmouth, so we're already ahead. The acid test will be United and Arsenal in our next two games but overall I'm delighted and confident that we can push on this season and finish somewhere in the top five.

Grudgingly, you gotta admit City have pulled in not only quality but the right type of players. It's bing bash bosh..you've done it before now do it for us.

I want to see what happens after they lose a game and react in defeat. Sadly, I don't think that defeat will come in the next game against Arsenal..

I just hope the Arsenal players respond positively to the injustice at Old Trafford. If we play as well as we have so far this season, I think we'll beat City. But it will be a good game.

City have bought good players. Though, good luck to them when Adebayor starts throwing his toys out of his pram.

I'm a City fan.

I was very unhappy that it seems the money has dried up already. I wasn't expecting us to bid £100m for anyone on transfer deadline day but not even bidding £25m for someone who is worth £10m is taking the mick.

I'm not sure about this Sheik at all - all mouth and no cash as far as I'm concerned.

Re: Were you satisfied with your club's transfers this window?

I think 'satisfied' was the correct term to use, we've brought in Heitinga which is a big bonus, Distin's going to slot into central defence without too much problem or settling in time, hopefully that Bilyaletdinov settles in well, he looks a speedy and fleet footed wee customer, something which has been lacking from our attacks for a wee while. Jo will prove good cover but I don't think he quite has what it takes at the moment to be anyone's first choice striker, the lad certainly has talent but I think he needs to toughen up and stop mincing about quite so much on the pitch to be the full article.

Since we've got 3 big players out at the moment I don't think we really needed to do too much in the market to help make us a better side and consolidate our position (European qualifiers) and without the investment on a Man City/Chelsea scale I don't think that we could really have aspirations for anything other than consistenly getting Europe and possibly snatching a champions league spot. I've only supported Everton since 97/98 so I'm not quite so 'we should be at the top since we were in the 80's' as some folks, whilst I appreciate having this view I've got to remember that, currently, this is the best Everton I've seen in terms on footballing ability and league standing. Just hope the season kicks on from here and I'm still thinking about our final 11 games, that's potentially 33 points in the bag give or take a couple of results. Here's hoping the other 24 games go our way too

I'd have liked Chelsea to have gone all out for Aguero - he would have given us a different option and been a big hit in the Premier League (IMO).

Do you think you'll be satisfied by your dealings in the next TWO transfer windows?

Re: Were you satisfied with your club's transfers this window?

Chelsea have 2 weeks to appeal, hilariously, CAS have told Chelsea that if they appeal now, the hearing will be in place by the end of the year BUT, if they appeal right at the end of the appeal date, they will be able to make use of the transfer market come January.

I think there are a lot of very worried clubs in the EPL right now, now the precedence has been set in the Chelsea case, I can imagine that a lot of the smaller clubs from around Europe who have been put in this position are reviewing their options.

I guarantee, Chelsea will not be the only club to fall foul.

Re: Were you satisfied with your club's transfers this window?

As a Tottenham fan I'm satisfied with 'arry's wheeling and dealing this transfer window: Crouch gives us another aerial threat up front; Bassong looks like he could develop into a very good CB; Naughton also looks like a great prospect; and Krancjar should prove to more than adequate cover for Modric

Would've liked us to sign some cover for Palacios ideally as our midfield is lightweight without him but hopefully that won't be an issue.

Bit disappointed we let O'Hara go out on loan, suppose we had to in order to secure Krancjar, but glad we got the likes of Rocha, Boateng and Gilberto off our wage book.

I predicted 7th for Spurs before season began but with our signings and great start to the season I'm now hoping for Top 6.
