Torres to 3 in a row League Champions

According to the BBC rumour site Torres is linked with Manure.

If he goes I can see Liverpool finishing in the top 4 next year.

The Manure thing is so old. Have edited title.

Cheeky £50mil bid for both Torres & Gerrard is in order I think. Pay off this years interest and £8mil in the pocket of G&H

btw interest payments are £36m a year so a nice £14m in the owners pockets

wonder how the phone call would go

Slur: Hello is that you Rafa
RB: yes
Slur: that Torres lad is a bit special
RB: yes
Slur: how much do you want for him
RB: You have £80m spare, no?
Slur: yep a whole £80m
RB: Go stick it up your a*se then.......................*click*

Sunday express it came from fergie tried to sign fowler so many times he has no chance of buying torres or gerrard.
Even if the club accepted an offer i dont think either of them would move

Re: Torres to 3 in a row League Champions

Funniest story i've read in a while, no sources, he's already signed an improved contract to ward off potential suitors and the talk of debt coming into the equation fails to mention UTD's being almost double that of LFC's.

Christ, if Rafa says he won't sell Mascherano for £50 million to a foreign club then does anyone seriously think he'll let Torres go to his main rivals for £10 million less? It'd be career suicide for him and the owners to accept such an offer and i honestly don't think they're that dumb.

Slow news day?

Career suicide is right. It'd be like Howard Wilkinson selling Cantona to Man Utd. Hell, Fergie only rang up to ask about Lee Chapman.

Yeah, but i doubt there'll be many stories about Torres sleeping with a team mates wife though.

Following on from the other thread, I think GG is working his way through the best of the usual made-up stories from newspapers having to fill blank columns... from last year

Not a chance in hell - sure man u will be linked with just about every top class player now that Ferguson has £80m burning a hole in his back pocket.

Re: Torres to 3 in a row League Champions

Ask yourself how many top players in this mould have moved between the top four this past 10 years...and you see not many at all.

And no, Mikael Silvestre definitely doesn't count! I think Cashley Cole is the only one I can think of

Plus Utd have no Spanish flavour, stuff like this really matters to the foreign players

Maybe not in the same mould but here are some that have moved...

Bolo Zenden...via middlesboro of course

Juan "shebastian" veron springs to mind too...

Lassana Diarra from Chelsea to Arsenal...

Knicker-less Anelka by the way of Arsenal, Real Madrid, PSG, to Liverpool, then to Man City, Bolton and finally Chelsea

Glen Johnson could be another quite soon...

Sure I appreciate those..but only 2 players went direct between top 4 Clubs and Veron only played 5-6 games or so for Chelsea. Plus he wasn't on fire when he left the losing Club!

But as you say, this definitely won't happen! After all stops Ferguson pulled to stop Heinze baked beans going to Pool there is no way José! that Benitez is going to entertain this one, for love or peseta

they're welcome to him!!! his workrate and effort are second to none but his technical ability and goal scoring aren't good enough for united. (i do like him though.)

as for the chant it would be one of the more pleasant songs that lot could sing, not like the ones being sung at the spirit of shankly party recently!!!!

Re: Torres to 3 in a row League Champions

United missed the boat 2 seasons ago. Now Tevz could be going Ronaldo is away and they are now feeling a bit spare up front.

Tores is staying he has just signed a new deal. Thats a nice £110000 a week.

All you need is a friend who once went to a football match and you could claim that as a close source to the club.
