Out of that list I'd have to say Huntelaar would be the most likely (and by far the cheapest of the three). Can't see Villa or Benzema playing in England tbh.

yeah i wouldnt mind hunterlaar at united would be quality

Interesting times we face .... are we starting a thread everytime City are close to signing someone?

If so, lets get a few ground rules in place ...

1. The name of the thread must express surprise as to whoever it is joining City
2. The fans of the player's existing club can post how they don't want him anyway
3. The fans of the teams close to signing him can post how they didn't want him anyway
4. All other fans can post how they don't care and whoever it is, is only signing for the cash
5. People can chuck in that the player won't be playing CL next season
6. Oh and make a prediction that City won't be in the top four and make a bet with someone else
7. Oh and maybe mention the last time we won something ....
8. After that, we can move on to the next thread ....

That OK with everyone??

If city do get Tevez, i've got a feeling UTD will try and get Owen.
Will cost nothing, hopefully keep his wage down and if he gets injured we don't really lose out, but if he stays fit, he scores goals.

You offered £100m for Kaka however Madrid paid £56m - unless of course you bid £100m for Ronaldo as well?!

I'm not confusing anything.

In january, 100m for any player, irrespective of who it was, was seen as the death of football.

"People can't get to a hospital and these Abu Dhabi lot are shelling out 100m on a man ***" the tabloids cried.

Madrid pay 80% of that for one player...136m over the course of a week. Is anyone up in arms now? No.

I think it would now be great if every name went somewhere else or stayed exactly where they are. City will of course still sign the OK but not great mercenaries like Barry which is good enough for 6th but no more

I think you need to relax and read it again. Its a team game and he's going to a different team. As you have an odd fascination with me I do not recall caring either way last summer. City are on their way to being a 6th placed club but that is again progress. The calibre of player needed to break that stranglehold is another level entirely however
