Speaker Placement

Bit of a dumb question, but with the LCD TV the stand comes to the front below the TV, so where do users place there Centre Front Speaker?

For Cosmetics, its not going to look to great in front of the TV so what are My Options?

I could move the LCD TV to the back of the stand and place the speaker in front, but as I said, this is going to look rubbish.

Re: Speaker Placement

Not a dumb question at all! Ideally, the speaker should be central (mine's a little offset but not so its noticeable), and at similar level to the tweeters on your main front speaker (with 12" if possible). Unfortunatly this usually equate to on top of the TV, which isn't always practical.

Many place the speaker on the shelf immediately below the TV, but try to avoid getting to close to the floor. You may want to tilt the speaker up a few degree so it is pointing towards ear level.

Other possibilities are to wall mount the speaker, put it on a stand behind the TV or sit it in front of the screen (if it doesn't obsure it). I've also seen mounts that clip to the top of the screen to hold set top boxes etc that may work, or you could try making a plinth to raise the TV and slide the speaker underneath.

Sorry, no easy answer - you may want to theck out the members gallery for inspiration.
