Richard Allan Speakers

Hello All,

A bit of a long shot this, I have a pair of Richard Allen speakers (I think they are RA-828LP, I will check when I get home) and I want to try and find some information about them and I was wondering if anybody on here knew anything about them?

I have tried google but nothing much comes up

They have 2 rotary switches that I assume control the cut-off frequencies for the crossovers but they are broke and need replacing and I could do with finding out if I need anything special. I assume I can just use standard rotary switches but would like to make sure first.

Also my cheapo Sony amp, a STR-DE475 brought in a rush ages ago because I wanted something that had an optical input, has trouble driving them. There seems to be a complete lack of base which I am sure was there when I had an old JVC amp driving them. I am hoping it is the amp that is the problem and not the speakers. Do you think that a change of amp would make any difference? I know nothing about the speakers really so aren't too sure what they are capable of. (I did find a leaflet which my Uncle gave me when he gave me the speakers but its not in English )

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Leedude03 is correct. You can find its current website here: loudspeakersonline

However: "Because of the back log of purchase orders and repairs we are not able to accept additional work for the time being."

Contact details are here:

I should drop them a line - you never know someone might answer before Christmas

Incidentally, all the info was available via Google.

What he said.

Also, it's Richard Allan (with an "a"), not Richard Allen (with an "e"). The spelling is important as you will see when you do a google search. Mr Richard Allen, is a bit touchy about this it seems.

Yeah I did find that, but because of the "back log..." I thought I would ask the experts on here. I did actually send them an email ages ago before the website changed and they had no message about a backlog, but had no response. I will give them a call and see what they say.

Cheers,
Chris
