ive been offered a pair of these for £80 but the person doesnt know whether its a s1, s2 or s3. can someone tell me how you can tell what version it is? tried google but nothing comes up

My 601`s are S3`s and its clearly labeled on the back of the speaker i.e
B&W601-S3.

Mine also say the series number on the back. Your not interested in a Center Speaker to match are you? I have a B&W CC6 S2 for sale at £100.

You can tell the revision by the tweeter.

I believe the S1 tweeter has a little 3 pronged plastic thing over it, like:

The S2 has just a silver dome tweeter, and the S3 has a bullet shaped dust cap for the woofer and a curved front design.

I'm not sure on sound differences though.

Regarding prices, a quick look on a popular auction website at completed sales show the DM601s1 going between £62-95 + del (depending on condition).
