Which speakers to recommend < $500

Going to use these speakers for my PC.

Is the Tannoy EFX 5.1 or Jamo A102 hcs5 any good?

Is it necessary to purchase an amp with these speakers ? or I can just use it with a sound card optical out to the speakers?

Both are good speakers sets and will suit. And yes, both will need a seperate surround receiver/amp to run 'em.

To be fair, if it's just for a p.c., check out something like the Logitec range of 5.1 setups that will run straight from your sound card.

I have considered the logitech 5500 series but for that price i rather invest in a hifi speakers like tannoy or jamo which i think would sound better n perform better than logitech's .. correct me if i am wrong.
