Kef & Service Experiences ??

Can anyone who has had experience with Kef's service
dept please enlighten me to aprox times for repairs.

My PSW2000 sub was sent back to my dealer for repair.
They have requested a replacement cct board.

I would like to know how long am i going to be waiting
as my request for a time seem to be ignored.

Having worked in the english electronics industry i know
only too well that this could be anything from days
to months depending on the company.

regards

I have experience of Kef's service dept. and can say that I was treated more than fairly and very quickly indeed.

Having purchased a second-hand TDM-45B from Ebay with what I thought had some time remaining on the warranty, I was not particularly worried when the amplifier section soon developed a fault.

I spoke to Kef support who recommended I removed the amplifier myself and send it back to them for repair. A few days later I got a call to tell me their 5 year warranty only applies to speaker drivers and not electronics! I was not amused by this and asked them to let me know what the cost would be before repairing the unit. The next day an engineer phoned to say they couldn't isolate the problem so they would just send a brand-new replacement amp out to me. These things ain't cheap (300 watt, THX)

And all this took about a week. Don't worry Kef have excellent customer service.

I also have the highest praise for KEF. Have taken my 104:2's along to them twice now for different repairs (I live only 15 mins from their Maidstone factory) and both times they were excellent. Quick and very reasonable.

Yes i concur, for several years Kef most certainly did not have a good reputation for customer after sales service, but in recent times they have had a 180 turnaround in attitude and service and i have nothimg but good things to say about them (and 99% of their products)

I would like to add my voice to the praises for Kef service dept. I was after some cable guides for the back of my eggs. They were stocktaking when I rang, but they called back the next day (how often does that happen?). I chatted to the bloke and then who told me that you couldn't really buy what I wanted, but he would see what he could do. About a week later they arrived inthe post free of charge.

I know it is only a small thing, but very impressive none the less.

Just to Update...

I now have my Sub back.

complete turnaround was 2 weeks door to door.

that included me shipping the unit back to my dealer
they ordered the spares from kef , tested the unit
and then shipped it back to me.

Cant complain at that.

Well done Kef.

I just hope the unit lasts a little longer this time.
