Calling Kef KHT2005 owners

Can any owners of the the Kef eggs+PSW2000 sub package advise on setting the sub up? The Kef user manual is probably the worst manual I've ever come across!
My speakers are connected to the amp, with a single phono connection between the sub's 'line in left' input and the amp's subwoofer input. Is that correct?
The reason I ask is that i can't hear anything coming from the sub unless I turn the input level up high.
To be honest I can't hear any difference between it switched on of off.
Should there be an obvious bass sound as soon as you switch it on?

Regards
Jono

I have the crossover set to MAX on the sub and allow my amp to do the crossover be setting speakers to small.
I have the input set to around half.
You can definitely tell its working, just by feeling the damn thing!
You appear to have physically set up the wiring correctly,
although some people add an extra splitter to feed both left
and right line-ins using a single cable.
Have you enabled the sub on your amp?
Azzo.

Thumbs up

Try changing the crossover frequency for your subwoofer from 50 to 80Hz. (Via the amps electronic crossover usually found in the advanced settings). All surround speakers set to small.
